The Doctor Who missing episode soundtracks are great, but until we got hold of the camera scripts, some scenes were just meaningless noise. But how far can we rely on the camera scripts to tell us the truth?

Great video, a reminder that any recovered episodes may not be what we have established them to be

The biggest problem is with telecine sequences as the camera scripts tend to only cover the studio sessions. Location and Ealing footage you need to be an audio detective.

The narration of the Yeti versus Colonel Lethbridge-Stewart's foray team in Web of Fear suggests none of the Yeti were destroyed- the footage shows a number being knocked over (suggesting destroyed)

I would think, having worked on film sets, that whose camera script it was would have a large bearing on whether or not a particular change was added by hand. If the change directly had on effect on the job of the person whose script it was, they would probably note the change unless it was very last minute. If there was no direct effect on them doing their job, maybe not. These series were shot hurriedly in a factory-like atmosphere and no one would take time to do extra paperwork, which they would expect to be discarded at the end of the day anyway, unless they needed to. Not to mention that there were probably extra scripts run off which never became a personal script for an individual and would be even less likely to be notated.

Another point is that it is not known whose preserved camera script is being refered and if it was the final revision. A director can prepare one and it is typed up and copied to all camera crew and production staff - but a last minute change at camera rehearsal on the day of recording result in a typed revision or would scripts be hand annotated?

No idea sadly. I got them from the BBC soundtrack CD boxsets that have them as extras. The Blu-rays of the animated stories have some of them too

@@Gillespie-Pratt And those are the CDs of the missing episodes? I don't know that I have access to those, I live in America. One of my biggest regrets, really!
