Very nice, as someone who has been going to Canaan for 30+ years I always love to see the spots people go. Didn't see them in the video, but when you are at Blackwater Falls state park make sure you check out the Lindy Point and Pendleton Point overlooks, fantastic views of the mountains and river. Lindy Point is just down the road from the sledding spot and right down from Elakala Falls, so you just missed it by a bit. Surprising how many people don't know about it and it's one of the best views anywhere, especially if you can catch a sunrise/sunset in the Fall or Winter after a fresh snow. Also some great hiking out in the power company lands off of Cortland Rd., just make sure you wear orange if you out there because they do have hunting going on at times.

This is such a beautiful location and so much to do here. Looks like you guys had an amazing time while there. MY favorite was the horseback riding. I love going trail riding. The Black Water Falls were just gorgeous. There deer in the water made me smile. Wildlife is just so awesome. Thank you for sharing. Mary💕Fred

Thank you for taking the effort to post this information. I’ve enjoyed several of your videos especially because you travel without kids and we have a similar rig. Is Hauling a 5th wheel difficult to access these places to camp near these sites you highlighted ? We come from PA.

Canaan Loop Road is not big rig friendly, but Blackwater Falls State Park and Canaan Valley State Park are nearby. Look for our videos on these state parks this fall. Lou

Fantastic video Lou and Melody !! It sure has got me wanting to visit there for sure! I would love to do the trail ride! It sure is a pretty area! The horses are so pretty, and I loved the Paint that you were on, Lou! Very nice Fish & Wildlife Visitor Center. I love visitor centers like that. with hands on things you can do !! It kinda reminded me of Chincoteague VA's visitor center. Very nice trail for sure! Cool Spring! OMG, a deer ! That was awsome!!!!!!!!!!! Yes that one deer did get a little close to that deer! Wow, a very beautiful video !!! Loved it !! Thanks for sharing! Vicky

I miss Assateague Island National Seashore. The salt destroys an RV at both the state park and the federal campgrounds. Maybe a condo nearby is in order. Lou

Your pronunciation of the name: ELAKALA leaves off the last two letters of the name as if it were pronounced ELAKA Falls. Just trying to help. Don't mean to be overly critical. IF you like scenic vistas, take the chairlift up the mountain and after reaching the end, hike on over to Bald Knob. Be sure to take binoculars since you can see the entire length of Canaan Valley. I hope you enjoyed the area!
