Hello, I have done a two year study HUMBER AND GBC. Applied 20th November Got only a year visa because I missed adding one college documents. Then I got PGWP Valid till Oct 2024 And I reapplied got rejection yesterday. Applied both by myself how do I go forward? I have done two year graduate certificate too

I receive 2 streams invitations from the same province Ontario. Got one from international student stream and the other one from express entry account. Human Capital provincial nomination. My question : Can I apply to both? If not Which one is better or will take less time. Please help!!! Anyone else with this situation? I have 14 days to fill out documents from one application and 45 days for the other no idea what to do. Any ideas?

Hello can you tell what is my work experience from this: (2022 May -present )? -I did 8 months Full time job temp -i did 9 month part time (20hrs biweekly) -Then 1 year part time ( 30 hrs biweekly 6 months, the 15-29 hrs biweekly till present) - 2022 oct ( 30 hrs biweekly part time ) to April 9 2023 and switch to Full time April 9 till present. Thanks Sahil for useful contents. Please can you clarify this issue: Received ONIP HCP NOI on 8th Feb with CRS:477 (Draw score 471-480). Spouse received Celpip re-evaluation score on 9th Feb, which increased CRS score to 479 but still within the upper limit of the draw score. Do I need to update my score to 479 and resubmit EE profile or retain the same score as per NOI date? If I resubmit the EE profile after receiving ONIP NOI, will that impact my ONIP NOI and PR approval?

Hi antriksh, One of the main requirements of the stream is that you must have an job offer that is full time (30 hrs plus in an week) and indeterminate (no end date) So in your case as you are saying you are on contract, that means there must be a end date to your job offer which makes you ineligible for the stream.

As far as I know, almost all 1 Academic Year programs have a 4+4 month study period (2 Terms). So yes, an 8month PG is actually a 1year program

Hi Sahil, great content. Really appreciate the work done to help and spread awareness about OINP changes. I have a question regarding OINP FWS. I am entering Ontario with SOWP, once I get a job and join an Employer who fulfills OINP requirements, should I apply my EOI immediately or should I wait to complete 1 year of Canadian experience and then apply for OINP FSW? I am a Software Engineer with 10 years of experience and I want to understand if OINP FSW is my best bet. My score will come around 49 - 53 based on the time I apply and the salary I get. Yeah.. You can only apply under this stream if you have completed your studies within last 2 years. So for example if i talk about eligibility as of this today (Jan 16, 2024), only people who have completed their diploma after jan 16, 2022 will be eligible to apply.

OINP website says this : Note: Full-time study is determined by your college or university. Generally, it means a minimum of 15 hours of instruction per week during the academic year, including any period of training in the workplace that is part of your studies. And their conditions are full time study while being more than half of the study time in canada. So in theory, you do meet the conditions for sure.. And if your study was online during COVID, then your online study is surely eligible, cause government doesn’t apply any restrictions on the online study time during COVID time.

You dont need any experience at all. Just the job offer is needed.. But do keep in mind there is a score factor where if you have worked for 6 or more months at the same position, you will get extra points, which in-turn will increase your chances of getting selected.

For example, if your educational credential is dated June 1, 2021, you must have registered an EOI, received an Invitation to Apply, and submitted your application on or before June 1, 2023.

You can but keep in mind that the job offer needs to be a full time (30 plus hours a week) and permanent position (no end day of your contract with employer). And as a student you are not eligible to work more than 20 hours legally as of now. (The 30 hrs eligibility is just a temporary measure nd wont make to eligible to work full time for a long term)

Both are same from ( 8 months of study, which you are considering as an academic year, gives you a diploma of 1 year only)

Yeah. As any other PNP, you will get 600 points in your express entry profile. But just to confirm, getting an invitation doesn’t mean that you will be issued an PNP. The issuance decision of PNP is taken later.

Following are the processing times according to he OINP’s website according to streams: (note that these times are the processing times after you submit all your documents to OINP portal, which you will be asked for once you get your invitation to apply. Ontario’s Express Entry French-Speaking Skilled Worker 90 - 120 days Ontario’s Express Entry Human Capital Priorities 60 - 90 days Ontario’s Express Entry Skilled Trades 120 - 150 days Masters Graduate 30 - 60 days PhD Graduate 30 - 60 days Employer Job Offer: Foreign Worker 120 - 150 days Employer Job Offer: International Student 90 - 120 days Employer Job Offer: In-Demand Skills 120 - 150 days Entrepreneur Expression of Interest (EOI) Assessment: Less than 30 days Applications: Depends on application complexity

According to the categorization done under OINP’s website, IELTS is just a scoring factor, it’s not a requirement for this stream. That means it will help you gain more points and increase your chances in getting an invitation but for registering under this stream language test (IELTS) is not a requirement.

These are the institutions which are eligible in British Colombia: Colleges : British Columbia Institute of Technology Camosun College College of New Caledonia College of the Rockies Douglas College Justice Institute of British Columbia Langara College Nicola Valley Institute of Technology North Island College Northern Lights College Northwest Community College Okanagan College Selkirk College - Castelgar Campus Vancouver Community College Universities Capilano University Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design Kwantlen University College Royal Roads University Simon Fraser University Thompson Rivers University University of British Columbia University of Northern British Columbia University of the Fraser Valley University of Victoria Vancouver Island University Your college is in the list so you are eligible but keep in mind that you wont be getting any points for studying in Ontario and that may decrease you overall points in the PNP.
