It will cripple business investment, people who were contemplating leaving Canada who have money to invest, will stop contemplating and just do it. The end result is the economy will shrink further, as money and asset divestment takes place in Canada, in order to invest the money in a more lucrative location elsewhere. You can't tax your way into equality, and you can't tax your way into wealth. Those two things must be built from the ground up, which starts with strong buying power of the dollar which requires deflationary monetary policy to bring us back to 1990 levels of dollar buying power, given what the minimum wage across the country is. And I mean real tested buying power based on hard assets, not government "fixed" CPI numbers.
