Now, cadets has turned extremely safe. Too safe as we're only allowed to shoot air rifles and us air cadets can't even get rides is cf-18's anymore!

It went completely to the opposite now. A lot of cadets wish we were like the British ones. But it’s still fun anyways. RIP to all those cadets

I'm a proud Canadian, but when i hear stories like this from years ago, and nothing done, well, i have to hold my head a little lower, wondering how we can do this to our own

its a sad thing, but back then the military was different, very different, nowadays, especially with NATO all dummy weapons or devices must be a sea blue color, clearly identifying if its a training weapon, back then it was all green, minimal markings, and today cadets are generally never allowed to handle weapons unless on a range for example, nowadays, thanks to military mistreatment alot of the army was taken out of army cadets, hopefully that will change back to the way it was, with safer protocols and there should be compensation, for the ignorance in safety portrayed by the armed forces

I think the Department of national defence didn't do enough to care for the Cadets. But man, they didn't need to lower the excitement and danger of Canadian Army Cadets by almost completely removing all forms of weapons and extreme training from the program! Army cadets is now almost the same as Air and Sea Cadets besides the fact that Air Cadets get to fly gliders, sea cadets get to sail boats, and Army cadets get to parachute out of planes as well as tryout for the national shooting team (both of which are begining to lose their value and taste in cadets)

A review of the cadet program. One which changes yearly? I was a cadet in the mid 90s and taking part in the movement today it is completely unrecognizable to the mid 90s. I couldn't imagine what the differences to the 70s and today would appear.
