12 Year Canadian Club Small Batch
$35.99??? (apparently the LCBO doesn't carry this anymore? Found a few bottles online, nothing really out of this price range)
Strength: 80 Proof
Colour: Somewhere between Mahogany and Old Oak on my colour chart.
Clarity: It's whiskey....
Legs: Still seems pretty fast
Beading: Bubbles up fairly significantly but they don't really stick around.
Glass: We're tasting in a glencairn, following up with a murder glass (tumbler)
Nose: Smells like whisky.... Not much coming off this one, going back to my tasting book, I've got "honey-ish" "winey" and "grassy" written down... disappointing...
Palate: Got some honey notes, some floral notes, and some leather... all in all, all fairly subtle, the 80 proof point might factor into that though.
This used to be my absolute go to for a quick "Rye and Ginger" always thought this had slightly more character than the regular bar rail bottles, and I was kind of over Crown Royal at the time... 40 Creek had kind of fallen off and this bottle (which still looks pretty cool) filled the gap nicely! Alas, I'm not sure it's much more than a mixing whisk(e)y for me these days. Wasn't nearly as enjoyable as I was hoping when I sprung this little experiment on myself on this fine Whiskey Wednesday.
Still a perfectly fine mixer, I think I'm more disappointed in myself for having thought I was have a stepped up whiskey cocktail, should have just saved the extra few bucks and got Wiser's lol.
The bottle itself still looks fun enough to keep on the bar, (I mean its not bad whisky, it's just not great whisky).
Time for that time honoured question....

Ya, it does, its fine... its super orange candy at this point, I tried giving it a fair shake by upping the pour, to no avail. Still fine, still tasty, just doesn't excite me.
