You're right, Faraday discovered that you are safe from lightning strikes if you are inside a metal cage (and not touching it) like in a car, plane etc. The electricity will only flow through the outside metal.

A few years ago I was given a book written by him, for my birthday. Right at the beginning he explains the difference between science, theology and esotericism using beer in the fridge. The chapter in the book is called: "Get beer for science..." He's really very funny!

He is credited with inventing the Faraday Cage, a device keeping you safe from electrocution by lightning (in fact, a Faraday cage acts as a barrier to electromagnetic waves, and today, every enclosure shielding electromagnetic waves is called a Faraday cage).

I see that you like German humor and German comedians. Then you should definitely check out Michael Mittermaier. He has been very well known for over 30 years and is still one of the best in my opinion. Among other things, he has an English program called "Das Blackout," which he showed on a small US tour in Washington DC, New York, Atlanta and Chicago. I saw a reaction video and I found it very funny that the guy from the US didn't understand a word and needed subtitles. For me, Mittermeier spoke perfect English.
