Aboard the International Space Station, Expedition 35 Commander Chris Hadfield of the Canadian Space Agency discussed the progress of his flight on the orbital laboratory April 4 with students gathered for a science challenge competition in Fall River, Nova Scotia. Hadfield, who is the first Canadian commander of the complex, is scheduled to return to Earth in mid-May with crewmates Tom Marshburn of NASA and Roman Romanenko of the Russian Federal Space Agency.

It is always nice to hear from Chris. All this interviews are very welcome and very useful to really understand where the human race is and where it is going to. Chris gives us a true perspective of life, space, history, and you really feel that he speaks from the heart. I'm hoping for good weather on the 9th of April because Chris and friends are going to pass right over my head here in Portugal! Turn on the lights if you please Chris! Best wishes for all.

its amazing! he talks about growing plants so we can eat amazes me! for one reason, for thousands of years we have brought our crops, cattle and growing methods with us, and now, we are taking that to space! i may sound like am talking nonsense, but i think its pretty damn cool!

the best commander ever! Tks Commander for sharing so much of your experiences. Maybe you could show some of the experiments process here on youtube too? nice flight! And if its not too much... consider the paper airplane just for fun and some awesome photos. hehe

if you could map out a space how would you map out XY and Z if there is no such thing as up down left or right? Z being up and down in blender, i think x left and right and y forward and backwards, will you map it out from your rotation point of view which will be always changing ?

We do know why some people have motion sickness, it’s an inner ear thing and sometimes it can be an equilibrium problem. I never had motion sickness until I had my daughter. Now I cannot even turn around too fast lol

Que pasa con la cuerda rosa de abajo??? Por que no flota??
@marieelisa1

La mayoría de las supercifies en la estación estan hechas de velcro. Precisamente para mantener las cosas en su sitio y que no floten por todos lados. Lo más seguro es que esa cinta esta pegada al velcro.

Will a heilum balloon behave on the iss like how it behaves on earth? (lets suppose that the room is full of air)
@freund333
@freund333 Жыл бұрын
No. The fact that a helium balloon goes up is a result of buoyancy which is a result of gravity. Helium goes up because it's lighter than the air. But without gravity both gases would weigh the same. So the balloon would stay where it is and not go up because without gravity there is no up or down. It's similar to mixing different liquids that have a different density. On earth they would separate because of buoyancy but in zero gravity they don't.

I have a question why does things move in space
@omr_w
@omr_w 3 жыл бұрын
It dont just ''move'' itself it floats because of micro gravity and to make it float you need to give it a little push
