So many air purifiers out there actually poison your air with ozone, mold, or are just plain ineffective at removing what you want removed. You should focus on removing the harmful VOC's in your home, and most air purifiers don't do that. They just remove dust and bacteria from the air with thier hepa filters.
Austin Air Healthmate plus is one of the most effective air purifiers with a focus on actually removing chemicals that off gas from your furniture. I reached out to Austin Air to see if they would sponsor this video because they are the best purifier for removing VOC's. I make no money from you buying their product. I just believe in this air purifier and it really makes a difference! If you're interesting, visit austinair.com/ and use code VEGPOLICE for 10% off your purchase until November 30th.

Air purifiers with the UV lights do not emit enough ozone and they're under strict restrictions to admit not enough ozone to hurt anybody.. You can also turn the ionizer on or off.. It's actually a cool function to have.. and cool to be able to use it or not.. ozone only hurts if there's too much of it in the air.. It's also a natural thing.. For instance one air purifier When the anion generator is on or when you turn it on it gives off a maximum ozone concentration of 0.003261 parts per million (PPM). It is safety-tested and fully approved by CARB THE KEY IS HAS TO BE APPROVED BY CARB!! They all do If they're using a UV light. They have to be under a certain safe level. And it will not hurt you and again you can turn it off.. All regulated now!! And I hate to tell you that ALL PURIFIERS GIVE OFF A CERTAIN AMOUNT OF OZONE WHETHER YOU LIKE IT OR NOT. FACT!!! LOOK IT UP!! EVEN IF THEY DON'T HAVE A UV LIGHT!!!

You can turn your bedroom into a capsule. Basically, I use the Austin JR in my bedroom and a seamer, plus a small dehumidifier in the bathroom that opens to my bedroom. The Dehumidifier drys the bathroom, laundry and whatever else, helps clean the air while recovering free heat from moisture in the air sort of like a heat pump (For every gallon of water it pulls from the air you gain almost as much energy as you would from boiling a gallon of water, and I don't have to heat my bedroom as a result. I got a nearly unused, used dehumidifier that was a few years old (Less off-gassing) for $30 and an an open box steamer at Goodwill for $8. I'm Not a advocate of the ultrasonic misters as they can put chlorine and anything in the water into the air.

👍👍 Thanks for the report man! Pretty much my experience with my Austin, a major health changer for me and a couple of other people I know. Filters have a medical-grade Zeolite and natural Carbon material that's as effective as it gets, and they last a couple of years. They also have a smaller 'JR' model that's less money too.

Its mostly just about the filters. If its only hepa & carbob, you can get much cheaper machines.. especially you want some machine that uses filters that are readily available and cheap. I have 2 cheap units, they can drop the particle level close to 0 on my whole house. Its nothing more than a big hepa filter. There is really no need to overpay.

@@dealman3312 Yeah, but HEGA is their own sales jargon. Its still just a HEPA filter with carbon filter. Other than that, like you said.. its just a fan that moves air true the filter. And you especially do not want a machine that uses some expensive filters you can get from anywhere else. The new xiaomi mi air cleaner has cheap filters with carbon etc. versions. And it has an actual particle meter. So you actually know how clean the air is, and when to use the machine.
@joshpascoe

@jackoneil3933
@jackoneil3933 4 жыл бұрын
@@nobodynowhere5213 Yes, If you are only concerned about particles that is true. I've found that an $18 20" box fan and two 20" inexpensive allergen furnace filters taped to it was more effective than a $400 medical Hepa filter for removing particles. What the Austin units do better than any other air filter is that they not only remove allergens and dust, but atmospheric chemicals, Ozone and VOCs to a lower level than anything else I could find, and for many of us suffering from allergic and autoimmune conditions, reducing airborne toxins and chemicals that can be triggering low-level immune or inflammatory reactions something like the Austin 'Plus' filters can provide a great health benefit.

The air oasis is another good unit for vocs, germs, mold, odors, yeasts and allergens. It’s really quiet and you only replace the cell every 2 years. Here's the thing's he didn't mention. Most air purifiers run at 20-40 watt, this one runs at 80-130 watt. Most are only 20 - 30db, this one is 55 - 64.5db. 55db is louder than my dishwasher lol Most purifiers cost $200-500, Austin Airs latest purifier cost's $995. Most purifiers filters cost $50-70 to replace and need done yearly. Austin cost's over $600 and claim to last 5 years as they have 15 pounds of active carbon in them. I've been using 15 pound carbon filters for over 15 years now and they need replaced every 6-7 months as they stop handling the smell. So I don't know where Austin are getting these claims from. Seems like a very costly system to purchase plus keep running. I would be interested to know if you keep or replace the Austin when it comes time to pay over $600 for the new filter lol

This was not normal dust settling down from the air, but dust that was being blown out from the vent with what should be purified air. I know this for two reasons: one, it was settling on the underside of a vent that constantly has air blowing out of it, and two, it was an ultra fine dust of uniform consistency and a beige color (unlike my usual housedust which is made up of different sized particles and mostly gray)"

@@lauram7803 I have never turned over or hand washed the pre-filter. (Turning it over would be counter-productive since the dust, etc. that it caught coming in would then be sucked into the main filter.) Just vacuuming it now and then removes all the big stuff (hair, dust, etc.) I have taken out the entire pre-filter to vacuum it, but leaving it in place and vacuuming from the outside seems to work just as well. Kasey, have you looked at the list of BBEC's and EMRS's in Ontario? I've seen the list and I know there are a few. They have more, and bigger, EMF detection devices. Hire someone with a portable XRF machine to test your consumer goods. Building Biologists may not own an XRF due to the cost, so you might have to look up companies with "environmental" in their name. They might gave moisture meters too, to see where mold is likely to grow. Indoor plants are a source of mold if they're in soil. Use indoor soil-less plants, like air plants and lucky bamboo to reduce mold spores in your home.

😄 (when you are probably the only one to nod in approval when someone starts talking about EMFs, about them owning an EMF meter (or two) and stuff...) Kasey, do you also have one that measures the cellular/wireless frequencies (from what you described, you were talking about one that measures EMFs coming from electricity/wires in the walls/devices plugged into the electrical outlet)? Also, ever tried to measure the EMF coming from the phone when it's connected to the wall socket? Pretty crazy, and I was using it a lot while charging before that...

Hahahahah I love it! Just came across your video and I’ve been debating Austin, AllerAir and others. But so far I see on data sheet a 2 for removing formaldehyde and says not efficient and wanted to know the type of coal, which I now forgot because I’ve read so many meanwhile. Blah. But funny and nice video!!! I’m worried about my floors too! “Relax, it’s 78$ US” I hear you 🇨🇦 lol😂 will probably edit and be more thorough tomorrow because I’m watching in bed haha. But I get what you say. AllerAir has different mixtures and outs formaldehyde at 4 but I’m not sure what mixture removes it… and they won’t say

If you're making a healthy home, you want to make sure it's EMF free. No wifi or wireless devices. Worse than those VOC. Edit: Just noticed you mention EMFs. Nevermind. Which meter do you use? Edit2: Cornet. Good one.

just wait til you get an EMF meter like me, your home will forever be toxic with ELECTRICITY. It's very good to know what areas are super bad for us to be in though & how far you should be away from places, or devices. Like behind a fridge, don't sleep there, or near a wi-fry router! Oh, I spoke too soon, you've joined the EMF warriors! haha congrats you should join the fb group :P
