Those are real bees in his mouth. Tony Todd had it written in his contact that tbey would have to pay him $1,000 for every time he got stung during the scene. He earned an extra 20 grand. Btw, when you get around to Final Destination, you will run into Tony and his seductive voice again.

This was written by Clive Barker.. there is never NOT horniness in Clive's work. It's kinda his thing, especially if pain or bondage is involved. Nightbreed (directors cut) is one of the 90s. Clive is also a renowned novelist, fine artist and director. Tony Todd is also Ben in the 1990 Night of the Living Dead remake, where he cries on cue.. that's one of his talents besides his voice.

Tony Todd rocks - he’s an undertaker in Final Destination, and there’s a scene in one of the movies where he rips out a cadaver’s nipple ring with pliers and i think about it and giggle all the time

I saw this movie when it came out in 92. I was 8 and it gave me nightmares for weeks. The score in this movie is super chilling. The piano still rattles my bones.

Cool fun facts: Virgina Madsen(the woman who says helen) was actually hypnotized for the scenes with Tony Todd and about halfway through production she told them to stop hypnotizing her Also, the apartment complex that they filmed had actual gangsters running the place and they had to pay them to film there Also also, Tony Todd did get stung during the bee scenes

just to add real quick, she asked to stop the hypnosis because she did not have any memory of shooting some scenes and that felt uncomfortable, though she also said that when she saw the scenes where she was in the trance state she really liked how it looked.

@@MegaVideoman23 it was very effective. Especially where that one tear falls from her eye. Like she's so overwhelmed by what she's experiencing she can't move or speak, just one tear to show how terrified she is.

'I feel hypnotized' They actually would hypnotize the actress when Tony Todd was in the scene to make her more 'entranced' when they were together. The actress mentions that she actually has some memory loss of shooting scenes because she was in a hypnotic state and had to ask them to stop hypnotizing her because it started to freak her out.

Another great one. Bit of geekdom. Tony Todd wasn't told about the scene with all the bees crawling all over his face. & quite understandably got more than a little nervous about it, & initially refused to shoot the scene (can you honestly blame the guy?). But he & the producer worked out a rather nice deal (for 1991). Tony would get an extra $1,000 for every single bee sting he got. He walked out of that scene being finished with an extra $36k in his pocket! I hope everyone is having an amazing week & much love to all from here in the UK

I read that Tony Todd had a clause in his contract that he would get paid $10,000 for every bee sting he suffered filming (especially the bees in mouth scene), smart idea.

Tony's voice and screen presence is absolutely incredible. He's so handsome but at the same time he's very intimidating and, here, completely terrifying. Brilliant, legendary portrayal of this character.

He’s called Candyman because of the honey they slathered him with Yes, chocolate is considered a candy The razor blade candy is in reference to the urban legend of tampered halloween candy. Poison, nails, pieces of glass. Surprisingly it seems razor blades have only been claimed to be in candy apples in real life, not chocolate or wrapped candy like this and other things have shown.

- Tony Todd's voice made/makes even straight guys swoon. It's a good thing he didn't get into ASMR because his voice would get all listeners so relaxed and horny the society would collapse. Who needs drugs when you have Tony Todd's voice? That man is more dangerous than a nuclear weapon. - "It was always you, Helen." Considering his backstory it seems like Helen was the reincarnation of the woman he loved and was lynched for. Or perhaps a distant relative? Or just the psychological archetypal embodiment of her; her looks and her intellect and personality traits.

This movie and Night of the Living Dead (1990) is the reason why I’m a big fan of Tony Todd, Candyman traumatized me and he was an amazing Ben in the remake of the aforementioned Night of the Living Dead. Definitely hyped to hear him as Venom in Insomniac Games’ Spider-Man 2. ❤️

Thats not true. Their are alligators in sewers in florida georiga and south carolina. They break in from the spillways that the gunk gets dumped into. New york has also had several snapping turtles and i have no idea why. Imm waiting on the shark in the california or texas sewer lmao

Apparently according to Google Tony Todd having those bees in his mouth and on his body are all real bees, they used a protecter thing for his throat so the bees wouldn’t go down his throat.

The beginning musical score is haunting and beautiful, but the composer, Philip Glass, was not happy with his music being in the movie when viewing the final product, he considered it a low-budget slasher and felt mislead, in his mind he thought it would be an artful telling of Clive Barker's original story. he has been less critical about it since then, somewhat, he says he knows it's a classic to many and he still gets paid for it... which I guess is a sort of acceptance in a way.

@@jdogjohnson9038 your opinion is only your opinion. I’ve watched the second one at the NYC premiere with the cast as s child and it scared me shitless. Still think it’s a good sequel. The third sucked because of a low budget and it went directly to video. The new one isn’t a reboot. It’s a continuation/direct sequel to the first. A large majority of the reactions to the trailers have been extremely positive. As a matter of fact, I haven’t seen any negative reactions. Fans have been begging for a sequel for years so now we got it and are highly anticipating it. This is many people’s most anticipated horror movie (and movie in general) this year, even over Halloween Kills. You can be pessimistic all you want but you don’t have to watch it.
