That SydMeet logo is the most appropriate thing I've ever seen. Need to start doing commemorative cap sets for big meets. Unless that already happens... I'm a hermit and would not know. I live in a house made of empty keyboard boxes and cap set holders. Maybe in the post-apocalyptic future we'll trade keycaps instead of bottle caps.....

I'm not sure about GMK over ePBT: I've never seen dye-subs actually fade, but ABS shine will happen.

GMK vs Zeal stabs, not considering the wire fouling on the plate and the bad keycap, are they comparable? GMK just better?

I already find GMK stabs to be nearly perfect with a bit of lube. Zeal stabs are probably a bit better stock, but honestly at the point, the differences are small.

lol if youre gonna make a custom pcb with a non standard layout, why not make it hot swappable? Its fixed to one layout anyway, they shouldn't have cheeped out either. Either way the board looks great especially the white/red with the white leds.

What's with the picture starting around 10:23?? Use the > to go frame by frame from 10:23 and you'll eventually hit it

Why you have to file the plate ? Is it due to the defect in manufacture of the plate or the Zeal PC's screwed-in golden stablizers?

I think there's just some tiny size differences with the Zeal stabs. I tried other stabs, and they worked absolutely fine. Like they might be .5mm longer or something. I'm not sure.

Oh man. That one connector put way out on the PCB with no support. That case better close in on that connector real tight or you're gonna end up with a borked board.

Yeah, as nice as these Canoes look, there are just too many options at that price point for a premium keyboard that don't have these issues for someone spend hundreds and then have to deal with the PCB afterwards.

Nice boards but can't stand the sound of the switches, too tinny for me. I like mostly deep sounding switches like most alps have.

For the amount the manufacturers were asking, they should have done a better QC job with the PCB boards.

Serious question, I'd love if someone could help me out here: Why aren't split spacebars more popular with enthusiast keyboards? Never had one, but I'd love to one day. With minimal keyboards missing arrow keys and FN keys, you need to go to layers. But that requires a key. Many have already used the capslock key as a modifier, because it's easy to reach. But why not the spacebar split? There is no one using BOTH sides of it, most gamers use the left thumb, some people use the right thumb, but No one uses both. This way there are like at least two keyspaces wasted....

@@richardgomez8010 you would need have QQ chat installed and checking taobao frequently. there was a fake canoe during june to august period. I not sure about its quality but it definitely not the worst. about 900rmb whole set

thats why its best to just wait after the group buys and pay resale if you REALLY want it, because there are plenty of expensive korean and start up customs that have HUGE problems, that you wouldn't know about until after you get the board. Canoe is still really nice though

@@SicSemperBeats Or if you're buying boards at this price, buy from brands that are already reputable from past GBs: Rama, TX, LZ, Duck, Mekankisk etc.

it's low production, so it costs more due to it not being mass produced. low production also means low quantity which increases demand

looks, build quality, layout. mostly just personal opinion stuff. just like most other hobbies increasing prices have diminishing returns, but people in the hobby think it's worth the money. i think the canoe was under 400$ when the group buy was running (maybe 350?)

stabs are still rattly, and tealios unlubed. c'mon man, you can do better.

The stabs on the Tealio board are good. The Zilent board has a good amount of rattle on the spacebar because of the warped PBT spacebar that I need to straighten out more, and yeh, needs a bit more lube on that and everything else :)
