Even though the forecast for this trip wasn't looking very good, I decided to go anyways. It was only 2 nights and how bad could the weather be? I was so grateful that I had decided to go after all, and had a spectacular time. You just never know what will happen, until you're out there.

Thank you so much Marco. I’m so glad you enjoyed the video. You are correct that the canoe is basically put away for the season, but I actually got in one more trip with it and the hot tent and the new wood stove. Those 2 videos will be publishing over the holidays. Hope you enjoy them. Cheers !

I've never canoed in the snow. I've paddled in -2C weather, though. The snow actually makes it look nice. ☺

Thanks for these ones. I haven’t been into Daisy for a few years. I use to stay on the same island, but on the other spot up around the corner. I think you get more sun on the site you were on. Some lovely fall filming. Thanks

I love your videos, Chris. You get to go to where it's serene and picturesque. I'm envious. Breakfast looked great! I remember the awesome loaded nachos dish you made when we watched the Superbowl that one year. That was good!! Thank you for sharing and Merry Christmas!

So pretty in the snow! I love how you always leave plenty of firewood behind. Someone could pull into camp and be seriously cold and it could save a life. Or just be exhausted and the quick access to fire such an uplift for them. Great example for everyone to follow. Can't wait for the next videos!

Thank you so much, Karen. It was very pretty. I actually was taught the leaving firewood gesture in Temagami. It is something that the camp kids are all taught to do there and when I started tripping in Temagami, I noticed almost every time I got to a campsite that wasn’t in some crazy remote area that there was always firewood. My friend Dave, who used to work at keewaydin told me they teach the camp kids to do this, and I’ve been trying to do it ever since. I was happy to see it in Algonquin, because I don’t see it here often. Hopefully, if enough of us, keep talking about it and doing it, others will follow suit. Thanks so much for watching and commenting. Cheers.

Enjoyed the series as well as i had made a few trips to Magnetawan with friends yrs ago. But have been around the area as well. With Ralph as my guide . The answer to the tree line is deer eating the cedar boughs in the winter . They can only reach up so far .

I’ve been to Ralph Bice before, pre KZfaq. Never been to Daisy. My passion is exploring new places, which is why I went to Daisy.

That was my goal as well on many a trip . But was thinking a bit more remote than Ralph Bice. I don't think Butt L was his favourite , Not from the conversation i had with him the one time .@@CamperChristina

love it when you stay where we've been so i can totally picture where you are! the water level was much higher than when we went to Daisy (2022 i believe). we stayed on the site you saw past the portage to ralph bice on the left (moose popped out between the portage and the site and swam across the lake!). it was a nice site but too close to the site down on the point on the right (in the summer when it's noisier lol). i'm glad you went down to the portage to the petawawa. way more water coming down the waterfall. we sat in the water at the end with the water rushing past us, but were able to lay our towels out on the rocks (the side closer to the portage). we also noticed that 'line' along the bottom of the trees on alot of the lakes in algonquin and wondered what caused that - we thought maybe a snow line? no idea though. nice little trip out for you (although i got cold just watching it haha)!
