Thanks to my daughter Maya for her filming. And one of her hens makes an appearance.

Thank you so much for these. You're videos are the single clearest canoe stroke instructions I've seen on KZfaq.

So nice to have your daughter helping! This is an amazing video. I can't wait to get back on the canal in Calgary to practice it with my husband in our new to us beat up tandem canoe. We want to progress on moving water and had our butts kicked by the flatwater trying to "follow" an experienced paddler doing figure 8's...it really made us realize that we need to practice our stroke technique...thank you!!

Yep the investment in flat water practise pays off in all sorts of ways, you become more efficient, more able and hopefully have more fun in the end. Thanks

Glad you enjoyed it. Yep pleased with the split screen stuff, took long enough to learn how to use it.

By changing the pitch on the blade for the sculling draw it will either push or pull away from you if that makes sense. So you can essentially move left or right paddling on either side of the boat. Love your book and videos ray!

absolutely right! Mind if you use it to move away I would term it a sculling pry. But what the heck it works and is something I often teach. Good point. Thanks

Got to love chickens. Haven't had any for a few years new but great little characters. They also appear to like a good cameo role. 😄

Yep trying to replace my dog Billie. These are ex battery hens and they are loving their new life. Look so much healthier and so friendly/unafraid/nosey. And plenty of eggs. Anyway got to have a touch of home in the videos. keep well

I had ex battery and ex barn hens and they were lovely friendly birds. Not sure they can replace the star quality of Billie Bonkers but if you could get one to stay in a boat all the way down the rapids at Mile End Mill I will be mightily impressed 😀. It could even go viral.

Thanks for this latest vid Ray. Out of interest - the piece of foam/rubber on your paddle, gunwhale protection? atb

It's a cord whipping to protect the paddle from the gunwale. I will do a video on it in due course
