Quick unboxing video of the new Canon 1DX Body and EF 40mm 2.8 STM lens. Added a quick 12fps burst test at the end and a few dolly shots of the camera (and know next time I need to find a smoother part of my hardwood floor to run a dolly next time...). Enjoy :)

I could understand a 40mm f1.2 or 1.4. But f2.8?. What purpose did you choose this lens. I use a fd50mm prime f1.8 lens and its great for portrait and indoor work

The 40mm 2.8 is a bit buggy... It will sometimes "crash." Once it crashes, it will no longer focus and will require pulling the battery from the camera. On the 1dx it will also cause the menu and changing modes (PSAM) to become very laggy.

Hey there, do you know "photo SFX art" (just google it)? There you will find a useful free video explaining the best way to shoot impressive photos. This made it possible for Daniel to create pictures that leave you with that jaw-dropping-effect after you take a look at them. Hopefully it will work for you too...

Sometimes I look at unboxings of lenses and such. I was unsure if it would come with a lens hood because it was expensive to buy separately. Aside from that I would see that sometimes they would pack it with the lens because what I was researching was an L lens. It really depends on what you're looking at, but if that clarifies my side of the story for you, awesome.
