Crop sensor doesn't give you more focal length, just narrower field of view. That said though I do find this lens more useful on APS-C because of that. It's great slapped on a 7D Mark II

This lens is a great way to creating dramatic portraits like sports events! It works far away but be cautious about the amount of aperture you actually want in your photos!

The IQ results from summer Jazz festivals was incredible. At one point a pianist after I show her performance pics she was so happy ....screaming like a little girl I can tell you its a gorgeous piece of lens

Just uppgraderad my old f4 non is today and i already love this lens . So much sharper at f4 (even sharper at 2.8 vs the other at f4). But will probably buy a second hand f4 is just for those Times i dont need 2.8 cause its so Much lighter

Hi! I'm thinking of buying my first (higher-grade) lens, wanting it to be a 70-200 f2.8 as this suits my style of photography most (horse/equine photography). Within my budget I've brought it down to the following two lenses: the tamron 70-200 f2.8 G2 and the canon EF 70-200 f2.8 II (mark 2). The price difference (used) is about 100€ (canon being more expensive in my country), so it's quite close to each other. But I don't know which lens is the better one...I know the canon is 7 years older, but it does seem to hold up quite nicely. And from the tamron G2 I see extremely positive reviews coming by. But how do these lenses compare? Which lens is (objectively) the better lens when it comes to image quality, sharpness, stabilisation, etc?

I tried to make video with my canon 7D and my two lenses 17-55 f/2.8 IS and 70-200 f/4 non-IS, but the focusing in video-mode is not smooth. Wonder which camera would be best for video, also in addition to taking good pictures..

+Gunnar Jensen are you using the 7D MK II or the first version? The MK II works betrer with autofocus. But to be honest, I don't use autofocus during video recording at all.

Well, what I would do is to make use of a tripod or a monopod, using a ballhead on top. Take the maximum ISO of 6400, take the whitest aperture of this lens and don’t take a longer exposure time on the 1/50th of a second

+billalphonso79 just google it. "Optical zoom to focal lenght conversion". If I'm not 100% wrong the max. optical zoom you get with the 200mm is 3-4-times optical zoom. But rember the photo quality, much better using a proper lens and of course you can crop these photos as well.

Mousai Imagery Yes. I've used the non IS version for a concert photography. For a staged concert, better to use the Shutter Priority mode, sometimes the musician is overexposed, play with exposure compensation mode O.5 - 2 EV.
