@@jinxterpinxter Hmm idk, i'd probably like to see someone else have it off before trying myself lol. There's two screws in there and that thing doesn't budge so I'm gonna leave it, I don't really have a need to take it off. All the threads I found were people not being able to get it off. Maybe you're right but I don't wanna break it haha. Thanks for watching.

Thanks for taking the time to do this. Feedback: I really liked the fact that you pointed out the warranty cards and showed them in the video. I am always so skeptical ordering stuff online and now I look for those cards. So while all the other stuff was great, I especially liked that you didn't skip over a seemingly "small" detail that was specifically something I wanted to see.

@@Mazena03 here's what I tell everyone now, don't worry about perfection, just post it. Most things only you notice but that's how you grow by moving onto the next thing and not trying to make that one the best it could be. You will get less experience perfecting 100 videos than you will just posting 1000 of them you didn't sit on.

It's crazy how many videos I've watched in the past month where Sony and Fuji KZfaqrs/users have switched to the EOS-R. This is about the 20th video.

It’s partly because of the lens...Canon lens are just thee best. Those RF lens just crazy sexy sharp

@@iKeto_gal It's just too bad they cost so much compared to even high end EF L lenses.

@@iKeto_gal I prefer the usability, bit rates and highlight roll off and of course auto focus. I've used canon lenses all the time, so that wasn't really a big reason for me to switch other than the price.

reason you can't use the nd adapter with a gaffer tape is actually this adapter is longer than the normal ef-rf. The nd glass requires a distance increase as it interferes with the light path, so if you were able to use the camera without it it would make it near impossible to have infinity focus. It'd work as a 1mm macro extension tube. So the clear cover has a piece of optical glass to compensate for the extra distance (not a lens, just a flat piece of glass with coatings) hence the price. I wish they'd sell a complete kit, though, nd, polariser and clear.

Thanks for the explanation. That makes sense. I know when I removed it I couldn’t get infinity and AF stopped. I just noticed other vids saying you could remove it and that’s not the case. The clear one should be included for the price tag. Thanks!

How are you still liking the R compared to the A7iii still? I have both and an trying to fully switch to R but kinda feels like a down grade with the AF, 120fps, dynamic range, photo quality and customization. The FE lenses seem sharper too. Did you feel this way?

Personally I’ve not looked back. I’ve even been shooting mostly in 1080 and the files are just really good due to the bit rates. Glass can definitely vary but I have the G2 15-30, G2 24-70 and Sigma 70-200 Sport and the images I get are awesome except in the super low light situations. The AF is pretty good, the tracking is a bit wonky but the Eye AF in video just works for me. 120p is prob the only thing I miss but now that I don’t have it the 1080/60 has been working. I’ve not missed the Sony much at all honestly but it could be different for different people. Which glass are you using?

@@WhiteMic good to hear man, thanks for the reply. These Canon files are huge too! Damnit, With eye AF on it works well for me unless lighting gets a little low, where as the A7iii is fine those conditions. A7iii glass, Sigma 16mm 1.4 crop, Sony 28mm FE, Zeiss 55mm 1.8, Sony 85mm 1.8, Sigma 70mm 2.8 Macro (Super sharp), Tamron 28-75, Tamron 17-28. Canon glass- All Canon-RF 35mm 1.8, 100mm 2.8L macro, 50mm1.8 STM Don't get me wrong, I do like the look of Canon colors/vide of their videos and photos. But seems to be lacking a clarity to me. Whichever one I don't keep I'll replace with a BMPCC 4k.

I use all EF glass and it’s really good. Now I do know that Sony has always been super sharp SOC but most people think it’s too sharp. The Canon def isn’t as sharp SOC but it leaves room to add in post. It just really depends, I’m pretty happy with the glass I have.

Im trying to decide between staying with Nikon with the Z6 or moving to Canon with the R. It's a difficult decision but I think the Canon switch shouldn't cost to much as I can sell and buy used lenses fairly easily.

I mean if you want to switch go for it! I don’t think the Z6 is all that bad if you already have Nikon glass. I almost got the Z6 myself but the external LOG kind of killed it for me. Thanks for watching!

There is a brand new speedbooster RF/EF adapter for the EOS-R that gives you nearly full frame for 4K .

I was waiting for someone to drop one, I don’t think the AF will be on par with Canon’s adapter but I’m still curious. *EDIT* Found it, Metabones, yeah I love their stuff, their AF performance is sometimes iffy but I’ll wait for them to iron out the kinks and hopefully Vitrox drops ones. I just can’t pay $479 for one lol.

I hate that the grip doesn't really seem to match the camera. It has that bulge on the left side instead of it being flush.

Yeah that really really bugged me in the pictures thanks to my OCD, but it really grows on you in person, I really don’t notice it anymore. I will say the actual grip on the battery grip is better than the camera grip, at least for my hands.

@@WhiteMic Thanks for this info. I've really been wanting a grip (as I shot the 1D's for many years), but that and the price has held me back. We pay nearly $600 for the grip in Canada. BH has it for about $280 US shipped (about $390 cdn) so I might get it now! Thanks for the heads up on that BH price! PS. I'm OCD too :)

I cannot get my battery grip to charge, can you show the connection please, I have been told the cable will only charge in 1 direction.

How’s it going? So the battery grip will charge but only if you’re using LP-E6N batteries, not LP-E6. Also it doesn’t like 3rd party batteries as much. You’re camera also has to be off. You must plug into the grip and not the camera. Just a few things. Hopefully that helps.

It will drain them both from my experience. I’m not sure how it does this unfortunately. Most cameras drain them in order. Thanks for watching!

Hi, can I ask a question about the battery grip. Is it made from metal alloy the same as the EOS R or is it a hard plastic and can you charge the batteries while using the camera? Thanks in advance.

Hello. Yes the battery grip is built the same as the body which is plastic outer shell with metal inside. That’s why I don’t recommend third party cheap grips since they are completely plastic. From my experience when the grip is plugged in, once you turn the camera on it stops charging.

I mean some parts of the EOS R externally are metal. But in all regards it’s built the same as the body.

I love using the grip for photos and video. If I’m using a super heavy lens I’ll take it off though as I shoot mainly handheld.

I’m upgrading from a 6D Mk1 - do you think the R is still worth is in 2021?

I guess my question would be are you doing photos only and maybe some video but not too crazy into video? If so, I think it’s a very capable photo centric camera.

Really depends on what you need for that 30% video. If you need 4K you’re going to have to fumble around with finding lenses wide enough or just use the 1080p which in my option is some of the best 1080p out there. The “Boring” music video on my channel was done in 1080/60 upscaled to 4K and I think the quality was great.

MJD I’m not seeing any type of markings to determine which is battery 1 or 2 within the grip and in the menu it only references the location and the ability to register a battery but that’s about it unfortunately. It just kind of drains them both somewhat similarly. It would be nice though. I’ve had 2 batteries last me just about all day though so that’s good.
