Hello, Sam. I am really grateful that you uploaded such an unexpectedly detailed video of an outdated machine. I am especially thankful due to the fact that I am in the process of revitalizing this exact camera right now! Your video already gave me the satisfaction of being able to zoom while recording a video for that retro-vlog vibe, but I have been struggling for some time now to figure out how to use the mid-recording focus adjustment. I keep changing the trigger button, and out of fear that I might have altered too much, I even tried resetting the CHDK options to try it again. No game. I would appreciate it if you could help me find out if the mid-recording focus is possible, and if so, how to enable/use it. You rock, my dude.

I have found the solution today. If anyone else is curious, you can enable Auto focus lock by holding down the half press of the shutter button and then pressing the set button at the same time.

When I take the photo in raw do I have to reveal it or is it the one that comes already revealed?

If you take the photos with the raw enabled in CHDK, you'll have both the JPEG and the raw file (in DNG format or CRW, depending on what settings you have changed in the CHDK menus). The raw files will need to be opened with software specifically for processing raw images (I personally use RawTherapee)

How do you force the flash? Mine only flashes when it’s dark which is really annoying, I want it to flash with every photo
