Not sure this interaction with the reporter is as big of a deal as some think. Look,Hronek knows he didn’t have a great playoff. He knows how much he gets paid as well. I’m sure nobody is as acutely aware as hronek himself,that he didn’t live up to the standard of play that was expected. I don’t know if the canucks keep him or not,but it’s over now. Time to let the guy have a break and think about something else for a month or so. That’s just my opinion.

Zadorov is looking for a job. Hronek is looking for a peaceful work environment. So it looks to me Hronek will only stay in Vancouver if the offer is to good to refuse. And Zadorov is willing to accept a discount.

Zadorov reminds me of a lot of the Canucks I watched when I became a fan in 1990 and into the early 90s. That was a tough, gritty, hardworking team, that had skill, sure, but even Pavel Bure early in his career could be physical and hard to play against, and not just with his speed and hands. But Nikita definitely reminds me of some of the grittier defensive defensemen the team had back then like Dana Murzyn, Robert Dirk and Gerald Diduck, as well as the guys up front like Momesso, Hunter, Antoski and of course, Gino. You did not want to throw down with any of those guys. Momesso was highly underrated as an overall player, and while he was mean and ornery, he could also put the puck in the net when needed. He was a top 6 forward for Vancouver and an effective one.

1991/92 was the best roster and staff the Canucks have ever had. I was fortunate to share two, row 2 , centre-ice season seats from that year, (Bure's rookie season) until the end of 1994. What a time to be alive!

Wow! You almost made it to the four-minute mark, without someone having to "go out there". Gotta be a record. P.S., According to Freidman, Filip Hronek's minimum arbitration is $7.5 million per season.

I agree with Alvain on Ilya Makeyev. Guy's not supposed to be on a top 6 role, but Alvain did gaff in signing him to a top 6 level salary, and double gaffed in not finding someone else to pair with Pettersson who's top 6 material. Though if the Canucks can re-sign Lindholm and Hoglander can solidify himself as a legit top 6 forward, and produce better with Lindholm on his line, no Makeyev to miss with the scoring mojo of the line and Pettersson healthy? That could be one of the full top 6 lines taken care of. Then they just need to figure out what to do about getting a 3rd member for the Boesser-Miller duo, who's not Suter who, while I like his play, is again not top line material, at least not at this point in his career. He's more like a solid 3rd line checker who can chip in with some offense once in a while.
@rubberduckie5518

I think we have to move on from Lindholm tbh. He was good, but can’t afford. Pettersson-Miller is our 1-2 centers moving forward.

@@rubberduckie5518 Keep in mind, that 6 mil cap hit of Myres is gone now, and if the Canucks can do something with Makeyev, that's another 2.5-4.75 mil cap space freed up, and if Hronek keeps insisting on silly salaries, he's gone and that's more cap space to keep Lindholm, which I'd really like to if we can.

I’ll speak for both Calgary fans and Edmonton fans. Sure Vancouver might have “more” fans but I’d take quality over quantity. A good portion of Vancouver fans are just bandwagoners that show up for playoffs or when their team is doing well but are no where to be found when they aren’t. They’re also probably the most clueless fan base in the NHL when it comes to understanding hockey.

What's wrong with that? It's an entertainment business, a multi million one at that. If it ain't entertaining, why should people pay attention to it? It's not like it relies on Patreon to survive. @@UnhingedCanadian If that were true, why would the company be incentivized to get better? The fans will pay them anyway. Might as well have a roster that barely reaches the salary floor. Clearly Oilers have bandwagoners too as a result. These companies want to make the playoffs to attract business from these bandwagoners. They're the ones actually motivating the team to get better, not the ones who pays like a chump even when they suck. Edit: I shouldn't say they're chumps. It's good to have base financial support for the team, but bandwagoners serve a big purpose in making a team good.
