100 miles to celebrate 1 year of rides on the Canyon...but we didn't quite make it to the 100.
Thank you for watching, normally I say enjoy but...
Stay safe everyone.
(I am an ambassador for the brands Le Col and SunGod, which means I get this kit, which you will see in my videos, kindly gifted for free, super grateful for this!)

Its heart breaking to think how reckless some drivers can be. You're just trying to live your life pursuing your favorite sport and hobby. I'm glad you're riding again. Don't give up but most importantly be careful. Don't let it stop you.

Hope you feel better soon Amy. I admire your pluck! I would recommend some group/club rides to get your confidence levels back up. The happiness and joy you express when riding your bike is very uplifting, and gives me inspiration when I’m looking out the window at the cold wet weather....thinking I should be on my bike. 🙂👍

Wishin you a speedy recovery. Driving in the uk has degraded since lockdown unfortunately and there seem to be a very unhealthy attitude toward cyclists at this moment in time. Seems like everyone is in a rush. Anyhow I’m sure you will back on the bike before you know it. Loving the positive attitude!!

So so sorry to hear of your accident,. Just keep an eye on things, it's surprising what things develop after something like that. I'm nearly 60:and have been cycling most of my life but got hit by a car last October, so suppose I have been relatively lucky. After about 15min I got up off the floor and couldn't believe I hadn't broken anything which was lucky as an ambulance wasn't coming out, I then spent the next hour consoling the driver as she was clearly in shock. A couple of days later I couldn't walk because of ligament damage in my knees, hand and shoulder, I started walking again in December and a few more months and I should be sorted. Even though I use a Garmin Varia back light I've added a front light, but ultimately when I do a road ride I pick my route carefully, I also do quite a few rides off road which are the best! I hope you recover well and don't get put off, there are far more benefits to cycling than negatives, we just live in a country where everyone is in a hurry and cyclists are well down the pecking order. Until the police take it seriously and react to these offences, (no one came to my accident and actually a motorist asked us to move so they could get down the street haha) then unfortunately not much will change. Keep Smiling, and keep vlogging. Chris

Sorry to hear about your nasty crash. Don't know the circumstances of it, but I used to wear all black 10 years ago (because it looks cool). Now, I wear at least some bright neon colours all times of the year (overshoes, gillet, rain top etc etc) - especially during winter where the light is so dim. It does not look cool, but it gives me greater confidence. The cars just can't see us wearing dark colours, even with decent lights. Get well soon.

Amy, so sorry to hear you talk about your incident on your ride and I really hope that it does not affect you both physically and mentally. All vehicle drivers should be ensuring that the safety of vulnerable road users is paramount, I don't understand why drivers just don't understand this particularly in the UK. I hope your bike is ok. Anyway stay strong and safe. Also keep riding as you clearly love to do it. Best wishes.

I don't think trotting out the usual platitudes at this moment is the most helpful thing. Just hold on to what you've already said: you'll heal, wheels can be rebuilt, even carbon frames can be x-rayed and repaired. Of course, we shouldn't have to put up with this kind of thing, but we can and do, all for the love, enjoyment and freedom of cycling. (Still wrestling with re-finding those things myself). Just to find a note of humour: I think you were safe to remove the helmet in the café. 😜

You’re very brave to leave this video in Amy and what an ordeal. I love your attitude, stay positive. My wife came off her bike in November here is Sydney. Not hit but swerved to avoid a car that ignored a stop sign. She is still 12 weeks later unable to work with a very stiff shoulder. As Kyle said, it’s only a bike. My wife is still nervous about me riding alone and so I mainly do club rides and indoors. Many ride now with cameras and while it won’t prevent motorists doing the wrong thing, it will allow you avoid being apportioned blame and get insurance. In my wife’s case the motorist sped off when they knew they’d caused her to come off.
