@@OggaDugga to be frank? Ultimate MvC. As bad as this is about to sound, the Tsunami hit them hard, including financially, so they used it as a way to release UMvC3 as a full release to recover money. It was a move of desperation. They had to do it to recover assets, which is sad. It forced them to sacrifice what could be an even bigger legacy so they could recover from unforseen damage.

My man, at that time ScrewAttack (a video game news media that has now converted into the YT Channel DEATH BATTLE!) made Top 10 about various videogame topics, and on its "games that should be made Top 10" it was MvC3 at the top. So they had to made a video after that Top 10 because MvC3 actually got announced and people thought it was hoax.

They didn't add any of the characters people wanted that could replace them. No Daredevil, no Punisher, Black Panther and Venom were DLC, etc. And Capcom's side sucked too, Disney didn't tell them they couldn't add Nero, Asura, Gene, etc. Capcom FG division has made terrible decision after terrible decision since SFxT. Remember when This series started with "X Men Vs Street Fighter", but currently has a game with no X Men in it and only 2 Street Fighters? How funny Edit: Also, be honest, which captured the stylistic choices better? Marvel 3 trying to capture the essence of the Comic Book panels/Animation, or Dragon Ball FighterZ trying to capture the style of the Anime/Manga? We can't compare Infinite with either because.....y'know.

Marvel 3 could have been the Esport game of a generation. If Capcom knew how to do games-as-a-service at the time. They could have, but like many companies, they don't understand their fanbase wants for the development of the franchise. Very sad. Still an AMAZING game. In a perfect world, it would still be added and built upon today and should be a premier eSport game. In many ways, game mechanics-wise, the greatest fighting game ever developed. Sad Capcom.

@CrossfacePanda
@CrossfacePanda 2 жыл бұрын
Well, “games-as-service” didn’t really exist yet at the time, so not really Capcom’s fault. It was in its infancy, but not an industry standard for multiplayer (for better or worse). And the FGC wasn’t really a part of eSports at all back then either, or very many console games at all really. It’s also important to remember that, while FGC competitors definitely wanted the money and recognition that those in the Starcraft and CS field were making, they still didn’t want to be “eSport”, with everything else that entails. So can’t blame Capcom when most competitive players weren’t even interested. Capcom did a lot of boneheaded things back then, as it does now. But not making MvC3 a service type game or eSports isn’t really one of them. Marvel Infinite is a better target for that criticism.

@@CrossfacePanda Your right in the issue that defacto games-as-a-service was not as fully developed as it is today. However if Capcom was savvy, there was on-going- character adds and support via downloads at that time. That was a thing, and that on-going character support developed into games-as-a-service that we know today. If they would have supported the game as it deserved, they could have naturally developed into what is proper support we see today in many games. But as you said so well, Capcom did boneheaded things then and now... SMH. Reast in peace my beautiful MVC3...
@CrossfacePanda

@@jasonmontoya4749 DLC was definitely a thing, even though it was still mostly expansions rather than individual characters. And the game absolutely should’ve gotten more updates in the same way SFIV did, if nothing else, and the having as few DLC skins as they did felt like a missed opportunity. I wouldn’t be too quick to blame Capcom solely for that, though. Marvel had a big finger in the game as well, and it’s important to remember that Capcom lost the Marvel license in 2012, as Marvel wanted to focus exclusively on in-house video game production for their franchises at the time, which was probably the main culprit as to why the game never got any more updates.

This was the game that got me into your channel. I remember following this game's news up until release, and when the game came out, the first thing I wanted to check out were online match footage before making the purchase. And that's when I came across your videos, back when you played Iron Man/Dante/Wesker as your initial team, already landing cool combos at the time. It is what sold me into this game, which would coincidentally be the very first game I took seriously enough to actually try to get good at. So in that sense, you were the one that got me into the competitive side of the FGC. (Now I play mostly Melty Blood and Under Night In-Birth, but MvC3 was my main game back then) I've stuck with you since. Being a fan since 2011, it was such an amazing journey seeing you grow, both as a gamer, and as a content creator. I remember when you first broke out of your she'll and decided to reveal your voice. And then later on show off your face (cue the Nicolas Cage/Chad Kroeger jokes). And then you went all in on the Assist Me! videos. I wouldn't be where I am today without you. Thank you so much for everything you've done for myself and the community. It's so nostalgic to see you play this game again.

I cant begin to count the hours I spent fiddling with the license board alone, let alone VS with friends. One friend brought his FGC brother over and it came down to my Spidey vs his Morrigan on last hit. I tried to chip on knockdown with crawler assault, only for him to backdash and dodge it all and everyone was panicking/getting hype. So the credits screen uses Elena’s theme from Third Strike? Neat.

I always liked the look of the health bars and super bars better in this version. And yeah, the music. Good shit. Watched those reveal trailers so many times.

Neighbors kid had this and I saw it, thought it was cool. He had it on the 360S. And it sold me on Deadpool, never knew anything about him but seeing him in this I was like "He's funny!".

Every time you play this, I need to hit up my friend & play online. I'd give so much for a post-Ultimate update.

My computer crashed with the "your device has ran into a problem..." blue screen while Max was doing the sentinel voice for the ending and I thought it was part of the video lol. It kept the video on the screen so I was like, hahaha...ha?

Seeing Dante and Deadpool clash swords and shoot guns in a bar is sooooooo sick and is a dopamine blast that just makes me want to be able to play this game at a high skill level each time.
