On Saturday 18 March, my Dad and I were absolutely enthralled watching the Cape Town Carnival After a three year hiatus, what an extravaganza of a street show that had everyone cheering, whooping and laughing with glee. We were so lucky one of the media group photographer captured us in this spectator zone, enjoying all the fun. WOOHOO!!!

Thank you so much for sharing. This is the third time that I am watching this awesome street parade, in Cape Town. One of the best and most exciting parades in the world. A huge thank you to all of the Float building, Costume, Makeup, Participants /Performers and Logistics/Technical CREWS! You are amazing and gifted! Much aroha from New Zealand. I cannot say THANK YOU enough, @Walk this Way, for capturing and sharing almost the entirety of the 2023 AFR'ENERGY Cape Town Carnival! For those of use who are CREW, and helped design and build all of this JOY to share with you, our audiences, we never actually get to see what the parade looks like! We are in, under, on top of certain floats to make sure they are sent off safely and ready, we walk alongside a specific pod to ensure all goes according to plan and/or we are stationed at the end of the parade corridor to receive the floats and performers as they complete the parade, collect their costume pieces, receive the floats and start disassembling and making them safe for transport back to BOH (Back of House) to clear the road for each next pod (lead performers, artwork and academies). THIS IS THE MOST I'VE EVER SEEN OF A CAPE TOWN CARNIVAL! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! When I found this on YT straight after the Carnival I couldn't wait to share it with all of the Floatbuilding, Costume, Makeup, Participation/Performance and Logistics/Technical CREWS! I wish you got to film the last two pods as well - #AFRO_NOW and #AFRO_FUTURE. ❤🎉❤🎉❤
