In this video I review the Capitec Live Better savings account. Capitec has always been a bank that provides value to their clients. Now that you can activate a separate Live Better savings account, let’s explore the benefits that are available to you - just for banking with Capitec. You can activate your Live Better account directly through the Capitec banking app.

The Capitec Live Better savings account also now offers you an extra 0.5% interest each month (on top of the current 4% interest) for reaching their Bank Better goals. For this extra interest, you will need to have at least 1 product, 3 debit orders and 5 app transactions within a month on your Capitec debit card. This will become an extra 1% (so 1.5% extra) if you pay for things with your Capitec credit card.

How do I transfer my money from Live Better account to my savings account?

You use the Capitec app. Sign in - Transact - Transfer Money - Make the "from" the live better account and the "to" your savings account.

Why would you pay interest on a savings account? Capitec pays you interest.

How do you mean taking your money? The Live Better account is free, so if money is going missing, there's definitely something wrong. But if it has been taking round-ups of your spending and putting them in the Live Better account, then that's what the account is supposed to do. It's a form of saving your change without thinking about it. Watch "benefit 1" in the video again to understand this feature. If that's something you don't want, you can turn it off in the Capitec app, under the Live Better account section.
