Thank for the video. I think many people are confused because a lot of people claim unless your right side number says 90% you aren't capped even if your rating is in the green. So what is the actual real definition of capped stats? Is it 90% or rating = IL or both?

I am at a point in the game where I understand this quite well. But lets say I have 88% power and 75% CritStrike, and I have a choice between 2% power and 5% Critstrike which one should I choose. What determines whether or not having one offensive stat at 90% and rest at 60%, or all offensive stats at 80% will increase my damage? At what thresholds does investing more points/ percentage in one stat become so miniscule that one should focus more on other more neglected stats. Ofc, granted eventually you want to get all your relevant stats to 90% in combat but what for peeps still getting gear, enchants and stuff, what should be prioritised when you have to choose between one or the other? I know the general consensus is that Power> CA>CStrike>CSev>Acc for dpses (especially rogues since we can gain short bursts of CA even in solo content). But this is me rambling. that's all just min-maxing stuff, it's not all that important. the gain vs loss between those stats wouldn't be a huge deal. but the simplest answer is to just use a stat calculator and compare the theoretical average gains/losses from those stats, from starting point to the end. in the example you gave, it would depend on your CSev %. but if your CSev is at 90%, 2% crit from 75% -> 77% is 0.11% better than 2% power from 88% -> 90%. barely a difference. taking into account frontload potential and class mechanics, it leans more towards some more benefit from crit. on rogue, path of the blade and bleed both crit *always* as long as the initiating hit crits. so having a higher crit rate is always nice. basically, treating it the same as you would burst a pure burst class like fighter; you really want to crit on every hit, since you use fewer hits that deal high damage. except to a lesser extent. but like i said, these things aren't as important to a developing player anyway. regardless of your stats, the main difference will be how well you play your class, more than your stats. i have complete crap stats without buffing in normal content (tho i am minmaxed for harder content), since i never found it necessary. but since i know how to play well more or less, everything finishes pretty damn fast :)

Why cant I upgrade my stat points? They only say pending.. Do I wqit until my gear levels up? I still dont understand. I'm level 16. Or are they capped so i can't put them where I want them? Maybe dont wqnt OP characters unless you pay? I'd appreciate the help. Thanks

It's the "50%" Max vs the Total percentage you see in the right column (which can go up to 90%) that confuses me. How do those relate to one another? You went through that very quickly, and I'm still not getting it.

forget the 50% max !!! just look at the right side percentages! if for example you are 80% you can either add items that give your %age values or add stats to the left until they reach ur item level , if u still havent reached 90% from adding stats to the left that means u can only add % items from that point forward to reach 90% !! ! adding stats to the left also increases your percentages on the right! roughly 1% for every 1000! all that matters is the right side, the left is just to help gain more percentages on the right if there is room to add more stats.

@@GalacticUnderwear thank you that makes sense. So, you can get a maximum of 50% from having the stat match your item level. Everything else comes from enchantments etc. Still, 90% is an odd number and I don't quite understand what it implies .... But I guess it's enough to know that it's the max effectiveness for your stat.

The Short answer: The game currently provides you more sources of Ratings than Percentages. You'd like to cap your Ratings first to ensure the maximum of 50% contribution so that the remaining 40% would be easier to cover via Equipment effects, Companion stats, etc.

The Longer answer: I feel like the video didn't manage to teach the correct terminology. Here and there it uses some terms interchangeably. It omitted to mention the threshold when green numbers turn orange and the meaning of Combined Ratings. You have Ratings + Percentages = Total Stat. Example of Ratings (Stat): +1500 Power Example of Percentage (Stat): +2.5% Power Note that for landing Critical hits, the corresponding Rating (Stat) is called Critical Strike while the corresponding Percentage (Stat) is called Critical Chance. Everything is converted into a % value in the end. Ratings can contribute up to maximum 50% and this is achieved when they match your Item Level. Note that capping your Ratings is hence dynamic - each time your Item Level increases, some stats will remain fine, while others will go down. As already mentioned in the video, if the Rating exceeds the Item Level, you're not getting any stronger and those are wasted stats. But when you're for instance 80732 Item Level, it's really difficult to exactly match 80732 Combat Advantage Rating so the game says you could go 1K over, that's still not that much of a waste and it's suggesting this by displaying the numbers in green. So 81547 Combat Advantage Rating would be displayed as green, however 81840 Combat Advantage would be displayed in orange so you should redistribute your Ratings because you wasted too much over there. Items also display "Combined Ratings". This is a short way to say that particular item gives you stats to everything by that amount. If they didn't, this stat system would have had serious issues. For instance +1500 Combined Rating, means +1500 to everything (Power, Accuracy, Combat Advantage, Critical Strike etc). An item focuses on increasing a couple of stats - for example an IL 1800 head piece with +1700 Combat Advantage and +1700 Critical Severity, but also provides some Combined Rating +1500 so that you won't nerf every stat by the 1800, instead by 1500 (while at the same time increase CA and CS by 1700).

Don't lose sleep over it. The combined rating given by gear is generally always lower than the ilvl it provides. You'll always be messing with ratings. Try to cap the ratings but at the end of the day percentages on the right are all that matters. It's possible to hit the cap of 90% while having the rating for said stat be under your ilvl fyi.

Btw, combined rating pushes up all of your stat ratings by the same amount. Gear usually gives combined rating less than its ilvl with a few specific stats getting further bumps. There are only a few specific pieces of gear where ilvl equals combined rating. The only thing I can think of atm are certain collars (non-combat related ones generally). Theoretically, the only way to increase your ilvl without changing your percentages would be to equip a piece of gear like the ones mentioned above.

Unless you are running the lastest trials you dont really need to max your stats IMHO. Just have fun and try to have fun players around you.

The fun part is definitely the most important 😸 But total % values make a difference everywhere not just newest content, if they are in the toilet everything is harder and probably less fun than it should be

I promise you will have more fun when you try to be the absolute best you can be, if not then you should probably reevaluate your life...

Problem with this is i have 78k ilvl and i do mostly bigger dmg then around 90% players because iq ( rotation ) > ilvl. Other thing. Many many people just copy your rogue build or whatever they playing. Third thing is farming gear and benefit. I still do bigger dmg with mirage set then others with last weapons and last thing is every new mod you need to change gear, insignias etc. Companions are not the problem, insignias are expensive as hell. You can trade it with other players if you find someone but still. I don't have 150m AD every new mod to change the insignias and enchantments and 100k ad well either farm as crazy or rip. + i have vip 1 gold. Metalac is my ing too , we spoked few times on kim discord :D

Anything that gives % instead of points will feed directly into your T% values on top of whatever you get from the rating value

@@talt9789 first places to look are your companion bonus powers, are you using ones that give you the stats you need? The % amount they give goes up as you improve the quality Look at the equip bonuses on gear too, many of those give stacks while in combat, but you need to make sure that you are triggering those stacks

@@talt9789 you might need to switch between the minsc power and tha batiri power depending on what content you are working on, minsc doesn't work on bosses and batiri only works on bosses. That would give you another power to use to pad your % values

I think, if i'm not wrong, only the Dreadnought Fighter have the best potential to cap all your percentage ratings to 90%, with a specific *augment companion* and a certain mount combat power (Cauldron). This new module will bring a new combat enchantment, that rise the accuracy rating to +7,5%, which is precisely one of the bonuses that the Fighter gains with Forte, reaching with ease all the ratings with 90%. But sadly, the DPS Fighter have a low-tier damage output, that means any Wizard or Rogue with less investiment, can outpass the Fighter DPS.

There is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING SIMPLE ABOUT STATS IN THIS GAME. For those new to the game, this game is poorly designed on how to understand what comes from where and how to puzzle it together. For those who have been playing a LONG time, minimum 6 months, it gets easier. GU's videos have really good info, but this video's title is wrong and insulting. Nothing guides you properly to understand it, mixing % and then flat numbers is counter intuitive to math. If you can get past the confusing system, it is a functional system. At best.

I agree the stats system is not easily understandable by people who deal with it for the first time. I guess it has to do with people who have a D&D background and... well in D&D people have to deal with this, too.

Personally I think it would be helpful if you did two videos on this topic (if you haven't already) this video which is meant to simplify the topic, and a second much longer video or series which goes into great detail. I say this for a few reason. First reason being it's just a different way to present the same information which may make it easier for some people to understand. Second let's say a new player watches this and kinda understands the basics a bit, the more detailed version could help them fill in those blanks. For comparison learning to add and subtract is great, but you gotta learn to multiply as well if you wanna do algebra, leaving out the "complex details" is like giving someone an algebra problem after they've only been taught basic addition and subtraction. To clarify this isn't a criticism of your video just an opinion to improve upon what the goal of this video was. An idea for the detailed video would even include some of the tests you may have ran, for example in this you say green is the sweet spot, show why, show how much different having green stats is from under or over balanced with like actual damage results. I think that's the hard part new players have, they see the stats and percentages but aren't able to connect those dots with the physical results.
