This is like someone complaining that an action film having a car crash could upset a town that just had a car crash. No one is going to go after this for that reason

The more you want “grounded political thrillers” that parallel “the real world” the more likely it is that things like this will happen. I don’t think Marvel can spend another 50 to 100 million(?) for another round of reshoots on this. The best they can do is delay the release, but I think they should just let it roll as is.

Why would it look bad on them? They made the movie before this happened. And what happened isn't even unique to this world, it's happened many times before. It isn't a bad look for them at all. To try and correlate the two things is weird.

A couple of things. Isiah Bradley doesn’t necessarily “take it upon himself to stand up and take some shots at Ross”. Hasn’t it been common knowledge he has been brainwashed by the Leader in some way?!?! It’s not the first time that an assassination has been attempted against a politician on or off screen. I don’t see any reason in editing the movie any more than it already has been.

Between Secret Invasion's use of Ukraine and this movie's use of the IDF and a presidential assassination, it just seems like they're having bad luck with real world events mirroring the MCU or rather the MCU trying to mirror real world events that are ongoing. I don't know if they should change it. It could be fine depending on the context. I don't know if Ross is supposed to mirror an IRL President. Marvel has done Trump commentary in the past. But they should be careful with their political commentary.

I hope they don't change the film. Unless it serves the quality and narrative of the film itself. Just because art may predict or imitate life does not make it bad. The MCU deserves to get back on track. The MCU has suffered far too much from being chopped up and edited after the fact. If they want to get back on track they need to focus on making good movies not on curtailing spectacles.

It shouldn't impact anything as assassination attempts have been made throughout history. Not only that there have been films specifically about said subject. It would be silly to react in any way, as it would mean reacting to every real-life event in case it offends, etc.

I think they should keep the film as is. If the film ends up being great and they don't change it, the unintentional connection to our real world could make it more impactful and worth seeing.

This movie doesn't come out until until February 2025, the movie was written before the assassination attempt. I don't think the movie should be re-edited at all, the TV show 24, ran into this problem almost every season. There was always something going on in 24 and it mirrored something that happened around the same time the season was airing. It is just a coincidence, I don't think Marvel should be pouring more money into this movie for reshoots.

At this point, I feel Anthony Mackie must have been cursed or something. Remember how Falcon & Winter soldier had an entire worldwide virus plot that was completely cut in the editing room and ruined the entire show's antagonists arc (basically one half of the show) ? This now is all happening after they already spent 500M worth of reshoots, so I can imagine their frustration at the entire situation. Removing that presidential attempt sounds like the smart thing to do, but from what we could see from the trailer, the entire movie hinges on this specific plot ! Can't quite replace it without the entire movie being scraped and having to go back at the drawing board... I really feel for Anthony Mackie (after 3 years of diss, he had, like, 2 days of hype thanks to the trailer before his movie is likely gonna be sent back to limbo !) and the writer, director, and the whole team who've worked on it, they've been through enough shit. I feel like their best course of action is to keep moving with the movie they already have on their hands. It's gonna add a lot of relevancy to the movie and cement it not just in pop culture but in cinema history and history itself, even though half of the country will make the parallel between Trump and Harrison Ford (which, I highly doubt Harrison Ford will be enchanted by)...

NO. This subplot will only be related to Isaiah Bradley and President Ross' personal conflict. Ross will be the one Isiaha blames as the main person who held him in prison all those years and experimented on him. Red Hulk WILL kill Isiah (funeral in the trailer) to imply, "Bad Hulk".

As far back as Stan Lee, Marvel has used its comics as a safe medium to reflect the happenings of the real world. Now, of course what happened in this instance is coincidence. I don’t think that should warrant Marvel backpedaling on this story… at least not yet.

I didn't even think about that, but you might be right. And if Marvel did do another set of reshoots for this reason, it actually wouldn't be out of the studios' character to do so. Apparently for Falcon & Winter Solider, the original plot revolved around Sam and Bucky teaming up to stop the Flag smashers from releasing a global plague to kill off the majority of the population to reset the world after Thanos' snap. Since Falcon & Winter Solider was announced in 2019, this was an easy fix before pre-production. Then in Secret Invasion, the Skrull's original goal was convincing Russia to attack Ukraine with nukes so the Skrulls could thrive in the radiation.

If the movie was out next weekend, perhaps. Between this weekend and seven months from now?! There's nothing to do.

It’s a legitimate concern but I think at some you throw your hands up and go “things are so screwed up right now that no matter what we do we might wind up mimicking real life in some way.” I think the election being over at that point with whoever sworn in may cause this to be a non-issue. I think about half the country will have enough real issues to deal with that a scene in a movie they go see to forget things for a couple of hours won’t bother them. This movie has already gone through re-shoots. Anymore might wind up delaying it again which might cause further delays in other projects.

There are always going to be things that happen in the real world, they should keep it in, future shows and movies will have similar stories
