I just would like to mention that Rayman's whole arc of being replaced references how Ubisoft was treating the character during the Rabbids Era (before Rayman Legends) They even got a cartoon show before he was ever put into animated form I wouldnt doubt the other games were written keeping in mind how ubisoft has treated their franchises

Ok *technically* Rayman did get a show in 99 but it was only like 4 episodes long before it was cancelled. Rayman was even voiced by Billy West!

However it was a total commercial failure and was canceled due to poor grasp on source material, as well as boring and dreck writing and plot lines. The writers wanted to make this show for the money, rather than for the source material and content. It was supposed to have a total of 26 episodes, but sadly it got 4 episodes instead. This show was so bad that it killed Rayman's TV career, but at least he made an appearance in Cartoon Network's MAD show in a parody called "Everybody Loves Rayman", and he made a guest appearance in this recent 2023 show here as a TV personality.

That would explain why Jade and Peyj were done so dirty despite having the most potential in the story(they literally fight an equivalent of New Eden in their game). That's just what Ubisoft did. Now all they have to do is keep teasing like they're going to bring them back but never actually do it.

Given the timeframe of the show and if it is in the Blood Dragon universe, let’s say Rex does appear-he would most likely be a kid or a teen. Which would be pretty interesting to see Laserhawk be Rex’s mentor.

@@fulcrum6760 what do you mean? Rex was a soldier when the U.S.A still existed, and the game happens in 2007, besides hybrids weren't a thing in the game, and in the series they have been around a while, so the series must be at least 20 years later

The best references or adapatations are those that are still enjoyable and well executed without being familiar with them. With that said, I actually had fun with the series. Rayman and Bullfrog are the best parts of it, and I’m not even familiar with the Rayman and Assassin’s Creed franchises. Still, I enjoyed them somehow.

This show reminds me of those fan-films and fan-animations that do crazy crossovers of game characters or that puts them in a darker setting (Fitting considering Adi Shankar made a few fan-films like that), it's basically giving one of those projects a larger team & budget, and I dig it

That's the whole Adi Shankar's agenda. He was really inspired by a short film made by fans with Batman fighting Alien and Predator. The whole thing looked like it was made by the exact children who played with their toys of different brands, and so Adi wanted to do this kinda stuff and still does! That's amazing!

Apparently in an interview, all of ubisoft's games are in this world, just not visible. They may be seen later, but for the time being, they are some where far off.

The Board of Directors are also stand in for AC Templars/Abstergo hence the Red Cross on their masks. Eden is also a stable reference how they created the modern world after orchestrating the world wars in ac lore.

Another reference, very small, is the phrase sarah says in chapter 2 "you are ghosts. you dont exist" when in ghost recon they usually say the same thing but in the first person.

@@nemuiexeyeah there was a dub of Shin Chan, it changed a lot to make the humor more adult oriented (the original Japanese Shin Chan was very boundary breaking but ultimately it was still meant for families), But the dub of Shin Chan that aired on adult swim is kinda comparable to the Ghost Stories dub, there’s lots of jokes in it about republicans, and other stuff that was just not in the original show haha. It is a good dub though

I think the scene with Rayman knocking that guy out with one of his floating hands better represents the Rayman games. And him being an icon for Eden while being treated poorly behind the scenes maybe symbolic for whats been going on between Ubisoft and Rayman (and probably some so called fans who just hurt him for humor in fanworks) in recent years.

The first episode caught me off guard with the watch dogs reference. Yes I have the pfp and what not but this was before I watched Cap. Lazerhawk and Iike how DedSec became a major point in the story too. I really hope they make more episodes or a new season.

Also the fact that their suicide sqaud is called "Ghosts". When they blend in the team name, they even use the same font like the 'Ghost Recon' games.

I wanted a video with musical references. in the breaks of rayman's show, soul searchin' plays, an original ubisoft song exclusive to the ps3 version of just dance 3. and in the scene where rayman goes after the terrorist in court, a song from rayman origins plays
