A Bankers has gone missing on a small Pacific Island, his wife comes to Captain Midnight asking for help finding the man who vanished while on Holiday.

When this show aired, all the kids wondered how people like SQ 369 got to have •real• electronic Secret Squadron communicators, lol! And the rest of us had to mail off quarters. One great SQ piece of swag was the patches that came free with Ovaltine. I still have 'em both.

Thanks for these - I can remember watching this when I was a little boy - a long time ago. I used to call it Jett Jackson show - but obviously it was called Captain Midnight. Have a safe and nice day all. CHEERS from AUSTRALIA.

Your memory is correct. The Captain Midnight name was owned by Ovaltine. When the show parted ways with Ovaltine they were not allowed to use the name Captain Midnight, so the dubbed the name Jett Jackson in the episodes.

Season 1 was Jett Jackson. Then starting with Season 2 it was all Captain Midnight. My hero lol. And yes, I did get mother to buy Ovaltine and I sent in the paper seal and got my decoder badge. When I got it, the first week's message was: DRINK OVALTINE. LOL. Stuff taste like a combination of chocolate milk and urine. Tried it only once. Was so great seeing the series again now....the shameless merchandising to kids....but still loved it.

This print or copy of the episode has a little more on it than the DVD copy I have. The DVD copy does not have the Ovaltine commercials at the beginning and end, it also does not have Captain Midnight talking about the next episode. And no CBS Eye at the end. Nice to see them on here though. Some episodes on the DVD do not have the commensals and some do not, but none with eh CBS Eye. It might not have him talking about the episode because it does not have the next episode. The Runaway Suitcase is not on You Tube either. S1.E11 ∙ Sabotage Under the Sea was also not on the DVD set I have.

It was always CAPTAIN MIDNIGHT. Disputes over ownership of the name made it Jet Jackson

The series was retitled as JET JACKSON, FLYING COMMANDO in markets where it wasn't being sponsored by Ovaltine/General Foods. Richard Webb had a contentious relationship with them, but didn't go public until years later for fear of upsetting the young fans who'd found Captain Midnight a worthy role model. He was an admirable gentleman.
