A mix of coverage from various entertainment news shows (Showbiz Today, Entertainment Tonight, local news) from when Captain Planet was a brand new show. Little did they know the impact this eco-superhero would have on our lives and the world!
Featuring interviews with David Coburn (Captain Planet), Ed Asner (Hoggish Greedly), Exec. Producer Barbara Pyle, and even some clips of the original characters' dialogue before the final cast stepped in!

Watching this show as a kid made me more prepared for classes like Earth Science in high school and environmental science in high school. It also encouraged me to recycle a lot more. Today, I always recycle anything that I can, especially food containers(cereal boxes, drink bottles, canned food cans, ect.). My recycle bin fills up faster than my garbage basket and they're both pretty much the same size. I have empty my recycling bin once or twice a week and I have to empty my garbage basket like once every 2 weeks. Plus, when I was a kid, my brother and I used to go around collecting aluminum cans, smashing them, filling up garbage bags with them and taking them to recycling centers and getting money for them. It's a good way for young kids to make money. My mom used to bring soda cans from her break room at work for us to smash and put in bags. When I was working at a grocery store, in the break room we had recycling bins and garbage cans. Whenever a soda can or bottle was in the garbage can, I put them in the recycling bins where they belonged.

1990 was the year captain planet premiered. great show. wonderful show but environmental abuse has gotten a whole lot worse instead of better since then

The reason why people don't do their part to help the environment like still throw stuff in the trash instead of recycling it is because many people don't care. They think that one person not doing anything can't do any harm but every person who helps makes a difference. To many people, money seems to be more important than their environment. It's like Commander Clash said in one of the episodes, "What good is money in a world destroyed by wastes and pollution?"

The hearts was the highest of them all LOVE. Actually it was very biblical. Teaching is to be clean and not contaminate our body’s . By doing so we won’t be powerful and effective in the world!
