Today 5th May 2024, unfortunatelly the actor Bernard Hill who played the role of Captain Smith in the movie Titanic(1997) has passed away..

This is a good evolution of every actor, performance, and the life on board the Titanic that very night of Captain Edward John Smith whom would go down as the very first man on the ship give the term "The Captain Always go down with his ship"

The 1996 Titanic was actually the very first Titanic movie I had ever seen up until then. I saw it on TV when the miniseries first aired. That movie got me hooked on the subject and I started watching all the documentaries and past movies and I did all kinds of research on it (well as much research as one could do pre-internet in 1996). Then just a year later in 1997, the world was blown away by James Cameron's epic version.

Imagine knowing that the ship is going to sink and that more than half the people onboard are going to die because there aren't enough lifeboats? I can't imagine being burden with something like that. No wonder he made no attempt to survive.
