Excellent job! Captain and teacher were very calm. Before he knows it, captain will quickly be a pro.

Very nicely done. Tight space, but kept it very well under control. 👍

It's amazing how much abuse shifter and throttle cables get over years and years of service.

These seem to be fly by wire, or electronic cables. The new shifter and throttle cables don't seem to have the same problems as ones on older boats because they're no longer steel cable.

Also why the newer shifters auto pause in neutral, protecting us from ourselves, whether we stop in neutral (before shifting from forward to reverse) or not.

I would have said “put me on the long dock up front by the tour boat!”

My old school cables from 1986 are just fine but then it's only 1600 engine hours. I would be more worried for the clutches in the gear boxes. They are more expensive to replace.

Don't like thruster. I like to use forward and reverse controls together .

Horrible slip ! I can just imagine the trouble on a real windy day !

more complicated than it should have been.... had he started the turn two slips further, it would have been so much easier.

Yup. We all started at the beginning. And when we are new boat owners we improve with practice.
