Hi Mike. The host on one of the popular welding channels (can't remember which one) always says "make your next weld better than your last". Sounds like you have that covered. My welding goal is always to stick 2 pieces of metal together so that they don't fall apart. Occasionally, they don't look horrible!

If you bore some holes in the new brackets on top of the forks, they would make handy points to secure ratchet straps or shackles for securing sketchy loads.

Progress!!! Check that alternator with the throttle up some next time. Some of the one wire alternators take a decent amount of rpm to start making power.

May need an exciter wire to make the alternator work and some alternators get excited off idle, they won't charge at idle speed. Just some info, love the videos keep up the great work!

Thanks for sharing your thoughts, ideas and videos. Great to see the fork repair went ok and the supplies and lift are on sight. In reflection I’m trying to decide which was more impressive, MBS making a cameo appearance, you had the opportunity to visit with Lord Muck, or that you can transport a load that wide from the Derby market to your house, without passing anyone going the other way on the incredibly narrow roads you have in your area. The only roads I’ve seen narrower on video are in the UK. Check out the HoofGP, he’s in Ireland and the roads are so narrow I’m sometimes amazed with the speed he drives at while transporting his squeeze chute. They make the aisles in the barns he sets up in appear roomy. 😂 Wishing you and your family the best.

The voltage regulator is what activates the alternator, it regulates the voltage so that $20 part will likely fix it, great videos

Back in the mid seventy I lived in Fargo North Dakota . As an after work income in the spring and the fall some people would have me change thermostats to make their vehicles run warmer or cooler with the seasons. New thermostats were defective from the start and some would even fail sometimes in within weeks of installation . That's just one instance of part's that will fail or have short lives . Thats why there's warrants different levels of products .

hey mike that voltage rectifier/conntroller is what tells the alternator to charge which would explain the 12.2 reading if you put the new one in then it should charge at over 14v loved the video

Welds are fine Mike! It looks a lot stronger than before brother! Yeah, it’s always a nice day listening to the birds singing! Relaxing! It’s snug but it’ll work some slack into itself as you use it! Grease it for sliding to attach up!

I would recommend replacing the regulator your reading battery voltage at alternator. Regulator should excite the alt to charge.

I was impressed with how easily that oak slab rolled on those tiny hard casters. I thought that they might hand up on a large grain of sand. You called that right.

That last piece you put inside on the back is going to do the best to keep it from jumping off . The only way to make it stronger is to make the top strip wider so it has more to lock it in. Tell MBTS to weld the inside brace like you did on the limb saw , or it will jump off on them .

I think you did it right, just not beefed up enough Mike! I always overkill brackets like that because I’ve built so many for the company I retired from! Sometimes you have to build things like if they were going to be on a piece of equipment that’s going over a cliff! lol 🤣😂😂 I call it “ beef and bracelet” or overkill! If you can beat it down with a sledgehammer then it’s too thin! Just saying! Ok, all this is going to be temporary until you can get material later! I understand now brother, just brace it ridiculously until you can get it right! Doesn’t matter what it looks like as long as it works my friend! 👌🏻👍🏻👍🏻

It’s probably time to pull and push the roof on the HQ building. The wood has had a couple months to recover and move. So you should give her another adjustment.

You could add those nylon bumper markers like you used to see on trucks to locate bumper corners to locate ends of your implement. Should be able to see from cab.

You could still have a voltage regulator issue. The alternator will likely have two spade connections (maybe they're studs) plus your main battery connection. If you put 12 volts to both of the spade connections, you should see full alternator output at the battery terminal. That'll tell you if the alternator is good. Do this test momentarily.

Hey captain have you checked the voltage on the exciter wire going to the alternator, you may be seeing battery voltage at the alternator with it showing 12.2, if you are not supplying voltage the alternator won’t charge.
