Hey Pretty Smiling People. We are Tyler & Paige Johnson! We have a super sweet pupper named Coffee-Bean who travels with us Most of the time (He has quite a busy schedule as well) We eloped to Colorado last year and it was the best decision we’ve ever made! Ever since we got hitched, we’ve relentlessly pursued our goals of comfortable sustainable travel (A.K.A. Vanlife) by building a van and a profitable photography business together.
This particular video has been a loooong time coming! We have been traveling in this 2004 Subaru Outback, together for more than one and a half years and now we can Finally show you how we make it all work. This video is pretty basic and there’s so much more that goes into long term travel with a vehicle like this. If you want more videos showing our day to day activities in the soobe, leave a like and tell us what you want to see in the next video!
Soon we will be upgrading to a Ram Promaster van, so our life on the road can be more comfortable, but we thought it was still important to make this video so we can look back and remember where we came from.
Hope you enjoy it! Leave a random comment or some constructive criticism below! If you have any questions, send us a DM! We would be happy to talk to you!
Van conversion videos coming soon! So subscribe & turn those notifications on! Please... 😹

Only problem with coffees seatbelt is if you got into an accident he could seriously injure his neck, I recommend getting a vest which would clip near the shoulder blades instead of the neck

This is my favorite build I've seen for an outback. Simple, cheap, and utilizes all of the space while having everything you need ready to go. I've watched a lot of builds and they're all cool, but the simplicity and effectiveness of this one seems most practical to me. I like how it's just a platform and y'all just store above and below. Best of luck on all your adventures and thanks for the inspiration!!!

This entire build will work with any model or type of Subaru Wagon. I would trust my baby to tow a trailer better, the headroom is not enough for me to do this. Memory foam was the best call for that.
@Ghryst
@Ghryst 4 жыл бұрын
that was not memory foam, that was polyurethane foam. "memory foam" is code for "the shittiest foam ever invented, that doesnt even spring back to its original shape, which is why foam rubber compounds were invented in the first place", foam has one job, and memory foam fails it.

Mine is a 2000 Legacy Wagon, which is probably the exact same dimensions as yours. I'd be travelling alone, and have been thinking of doing something like this, but only for the passenger side (since the wider of the 60/40 split seat is on that side). It's nice to see that it can be done without a lot of money or a full workshop.

It operates automatically a few different ways-- in fact, will not stay open without draining the battery-=though some people apparently get around this. However, you are the only ones I have seen that just operate the door manually. Not sure I would be so okay with a noose right at my door--I have a vivid imagination. :) Thanks.

You could always ventilate with the window covers you see on some cars. Just throw those on and you can leave the front and rear windows cracked without drawing any undue attention.
