Leney is a very unique tiny home dweller indeed. Not only does she follow her passion for her own style of journalism, she gains a mobile income from thrifting vintage clothing. Not every tiny home on wheels has to be big to be home, it only has to provide for the dweller that lives within.

I’m with you on tailgates. I’ve been traveling out of a Jeep Cherokee for about 4 years and worked out a hack for the tailgate. I got a 36X18 shelf at Lowes and added 1/4 inch eye bolts on 2 corners. I slide the front edge into the gap between the interior of the back and the bumper (it looks like you may have a similar gap). Then I have chains with hooks on the ends attached to each eyebolt (which go on the outside edge of the shelf when set up) that I run to child seat anchors that are on the ceiling just inside the hatch. That way, they support the “tailgate” which is very stable and strong. When not in use, it comes right of and stores well since it’s just a flat board. Put a folding chair behind the car and you have your own picnic table. If that’s hard to picture, let me know and I’ll provide a better explanation or a photo.

When I car camping or car trip in my Outback I have similar setup like hers (love the sheepskin idea; I have a couple of big ones too), nothing top of the line, no modification/platform, don’t have a roof cargo box either. I like to sleep in my car, making decamping faster.

Having several pairs of shoes is GOOD--gives time for them to air out between wearings. Also, the cardboard box will "breathe," whereas a solid plastic bin won't (maybe use a milkcrate...).🥾🥿

I own a 2000 forester l. I did have the engine re built, clutch replaced, and alot of the other maintenance items done. All in 6000, whick included the cost of the car. I've own it four years.. Just spent 90 days on the road. Went to Alaska from AZ. 16, 000 miles. And the only issue I had was I had to replace the lighter socket. $3.50.

@Buysome Bitcoin Actually, the engine quality has not gone up because they are still using the open box engine design which is the source of the problem with the HG. I've heard that the turbo engine is a closed box, but I never verified that because I didn't want anything to do with HG problems. The gaskets go out between 45,000- 100000 miles. Why they continue to build something that is clearly flawed on a car that is otherwise spectacular is beyond me. Here's an example of what still occurring: "Some people were lucky and did not have a head gasket problem, some were not lucky and had to replace the HG and some had to replace the HG more than once. The root-cause of this problem is in a bad design which has not been fixed since the mid-nineties, what is really shameful. The HG issues have been going on for approximately 25 years, I had to replace HG on my 2010 Forester in 2016 at only 57000 mi! Do not buy a Subaru until HG issues are successfully resolved." When I went to test drive the new Subaru Outback in 2013 and heard about this problem, I had a long talk with the head mechanic who readily admitted that it continued to be a huge problem. That was the end of that. I've been very happy with my Honda CRV.
