Car camping Peninsula State Park lots of drama! Drama that could have been avoided if a #karen & her husband didn’t camp in my spot. I was so looking forward to car camping Peninsula State Park, I had heard so much about the park, so when I had to deal with lots of drama getting into my site, I was not happy.
I will tell you, the Wisconsin DNR and the Warden at the park, took care of the matter and gave me back a night of my stay for what I had to deal with, so thank you.
In this video:
- I’m taking you right after work, to a brand new state park, Peninsula State Park
- I’ll show you what happens when #karen and her hubby refuse to move out of MY camping spot and the warden has to step in
- And I’ll take you on a hike the ends up on top of “Eagle Tower” with a view that will blow you away!
For more details on the park, make sure you head on over to RVJedeye.com
And a reminder, don’t forget to like the video and click and subscribe to the channel. Make sure you hit that bell notification button, that way whenever new video’s come up, you’ll be notified right away!

I'm so sorry that you had a stressful beginning to your camping weekend. At first, it was my assumption that maybe they misread their site number (474 and 494???), but when you proved it was registered to you and they refused to move that was wrong. They should have just apologized and moved. Proper Camp Ettiquette. Glad you were able to get a goodnight's sleep and hopefully enjoy the remainder of your weekend. Tip: I know you don't want to tent camp, but most times just setting up a small, cheap pup tent on your site will deter others from setting up while you are out exploring in your car. Inexperienced campers tend to think that because the site is empty it's up for grabs, even though it is clearly posted otherwise.

Had a problem with fellow campsite myself recently... I asked them to put out campfire 🔥 during a fire ban and red flag warning, hour later fire still going... I asked again... Much macho bs entitled Ken ensued... I explained I've attended many wildland firefighter funerals and I've seen the destruction firsthand... At midnight sheriff showed up, they were told to pack up and leave the county with a citation in hand...

I was ticked off just watching what you had to go through before you could park in the spot you reserved - I'm glad things turned around and you enjoyed the rest of your trip. I have an SUV about the size of yours and am planning to do my first solo camping trip in it so I'm glad I found your channel. This will be a change for me. My previous trips have been by air and on cruise ships, but after caring for my mother for the last 3.5 years and losing her recently, I feel like I want some alone time in nature (by way of state and national parks). It didn't help that while I was caring for her I discovered camping and "vanlife" videos and have watched hundreds of them by now 😆. Thanks for the videos!

Just want to say im with you on the occupied site situation, we had that last year 3 times in a row, twice at private parks, and once at Point Beach, Ranger didnt know what to do, they finally gave us a different site. In Lyndon Station, the had 12 pull throughs, she assigned us the only occupied sites, and it was obvious the person has been there for months. and then again in Avoca WI we were assigned a site, no one to call, because it was late and is run by the town, so we just took another site hoping it wasnt a problem. Glad it worked out after a rocky start for you at Peninsula

Hey David, bummer about the initial aggravation. Sounds like an honest mistake. Have you ever thought about pulling your car behind your RV. Your RV should handle that no problem. Its really convenient having a car with you, especially on longer trips. Allows you the opportunity to explore the area and you don't have to break down camp everytime you go. AND in the case where our RV broke down 2 hours from home at the beginning of a 4 week trip,, it allowed us to just drive the car home, while waiting a week for the RV to get fixed.....Just a thought.

@@RVJedeye If you're camping in state parks to be _at the park,_ that makes total sense. Sometimes we stay at a place like KOA because it's handy to a tourist destination, un-hitch and use the rig like a motel room. That's how we did Dayton OH for multiple museums, and Dearborn MI for The Henry Ford. After a day or tourist stuff we go "home" for a campfire and dinner. (We tow a small travel trailer with a half-ton Sierra pickup.) There's no one best setup; it all depends what works and makes the owner happy.

@@RVJedeye They're independently owned, and they vary a bit even though they're franchises. In Dayton OH the park was nice, but the water quality from the hookups was poor. WiFi was down for our entire stay. I'd advise checking the reviews for the specific park you're considering.

I am considering camping using a SUV for sleeping which drew me to your video. I am a total novice...my only real experience camping was in military...and that is a different kind of camping 😂. My question is how to use the shore power?...no RV just car and possibly a pop tent for sitting. I see there are different plugs and amps etc., I just wonder if I can plug stuff in, or charge my battery power station...ecoflow river. Is there a super basic how to video out there or have you done one?

Well, I am just glad you didn't have someone confront you face to face. Did you go look at their spot to see why they maybe didn't stay there? And why on earth would someone just think that they can just pick another campers spot?!?!?! I think this park is beautiful. I may see a bike & bike rack in your future. For the car and then can be put on your RV. Our grandson asked if we could take his bike on an RV trip. LOL Maybe a Clam screen room type tent would be good to set up on your site. I just knew you were going to come back from Eagle's Tower and find someone in your spot or your stuff that was left on the table gone. A lot of people use them with their Class A's so it wouldn't be a purchase that isn't needed when you get the RV back. Love your videos! HUGS~Donna
