It is honestly an abnormality. You can hope for the fairy tales, but neither him nor his team have the level to pretend to even a Top 10 on a big Tour... Highly suspicious coming from a team that spent the whole TdF in the shadows of the GC.

I agree. In the LR&BN Podcast yesterday they 'awarded' their own Combativity Prizes and LR said they were doing this because the way the Combativity Prize in La Vuelta is awarded is via a daily public vote open only to those watching the TV coverage in Spain so it is a no brainer that favorite Spanish rider will get picked every day.

ROMAIN ALLEZ LÀ! So stocked by his performance today, he had to make the difference in that break, and he did it beautifully. Hope he can maintain his mtn jersey through the rest of the race. Champ did some impressive climbs too. Edit : Adding that Vine is a warrior is an understatement. That kind of riders is such a joy to watch. Crazy that he was recruited via Zwift.

Good for Bardet and his win, it's been awhile. When he first appeared on the scene he was touted as the next French cycling hero and quickly became the latest French darling. Jumbo Vismer seem to be doing just enough to keep the leaders jersey within reach at this years Vuelter.

2:11 I think Vine was embarrassed by his crash. It's a demonstration that at high speeds, you slide rather than fall, so you lose skin but don't break bones. It's not the fall that hurts, it's the sudden STOP that does the damage.🛑❌ That said, I really hate when sweat gets into my wounds!

I know this is off the topic but since there are so many people here who follow cycling I'd like to ask one question. I've recently watched a clip about a hailstorm during the Dauphine 2020 when all the riders were hiding under the trees even though their team cars stopped right next to them. Is there a rule that a rider can't get in a team car during a stage even in such weather?
@snufte
@snufte 2 жыл бұрын
I dont know if there is a rule like that, but there have been races where riders have been moved because of weather. Like Milano - Sanremo 2013. I guess if the race organizers stops the race temporarily, it would be ok
@Magnetised_
@Magnetised_ 2 жыл бұрын
As far as i know, getting in the car while the race is ongoing (any car for that matter) means you abandon the race and will DNF that stage. It's why after somewhat serious crash, a rider might take a moment to debate whether to continue or not and they will do so by sitting at the side of the road, even though there is a car right next to him. Getting in the car means the decision is made: you are out. Now this all applies to an Ongoing race. In the 2020 Dauphiné, I don't remember if the race was officially halted by the organisation or if the riders themselves simply agreed to stop, though i'd personally guess the latter. In the latter case the race would have officially been ongoing and so getting in a car meant quitting the race. If the race was officially halted, the riders might have simply been unsure of it and afraid of taking the risk.
