We bought this van in black earlier this year.... WE LOVE IT. Love the velcro head rest thing!

I know this is and older video but have you considered putting a rug behind the front seats in front of the bucket seats in the back? A friend showed me this a few years ago and I LOVE having mine in my car. It’s a 20x60 rug that will fit just perfect. Helps to keep the car mats clean and prevent a bunch of stuff from falling into the storage underneath.

I have the same van, I use a Tupperware brand super cereal storer between the front seats behind the console, it fits perfectly, I like it with mini garbage bags I got from the dollar store. I like having a lid I can keep open or close when needed. I use a zippered square kids lunch bag to hold my first aid stuff for , I keep it in the back cubby where your emergency stuff is .I keep extra napkins in a sandwich keeper in the top glove box and my sunscreen and lotion in the big console drawer. I love all the nooks this van has. Nice video!

I drive a Ford station wagon and have a big green Rubbermaid bin for work (horticulturalist) tools. I have a clear, smaller one for dog stuff and I have another big one for 'emergencies' which includes hiking boots, extra socks, extra fleece, help call police sign, utility knife, etc. Between the dogs and my work, my car can get really messy and dirty, so nothing loose will ever stay pristine like in your vehicle! I can't have things tucked away quite like that because I'll forget what I have or where it is....when it's all in one place, it's easier to tidy up and I always know where to look. Also, if I'm going to the greenhouse and need space all I have to remove are the bins, not take everything off the seat backs before folding them down to accommodate a 6' tree!

im a first time van owner but mine doesnt have the storage yours has. have to keep that in mind when this one dies. we had some dvd holders that went over the headrests and they sucked. awesome tips and cool ideas.

I think the knife at the end of the video is used to cut the seat belts in case of emergencies. That should be up front where the driver can reach it quickly. Loved the organizing tips!

I need help organizing my car - eek! I see a lot of the mini van organization videos but nothing for Subaru Outback station wagons :)

For the garbage in the car I use a plastic kid cup that I had gotten from a restaurant. So, when it gets full, I take it in the house & I'm able to wash the cup in the dishwasher. AND the garbage in the car doesn't get out of hand. Doesn't hold much. . . but who wants garbage in the car right?

What about the heat with your under the seat kit? Won't the deodorant melt in there? I have the foldable garbage can!! It's genius! What's your opinion about keeping water in a plastic bottle in the car in the heat? I've heard it is bad to drink? what do you use yours for? Thanks a bunch!! xoxo Jen

Nice tips! How do you like the Grand Caravan? I like the masculine lines of the Caravan vs the more "bubble" body style I usually see, but I have read some formal review articles saying the ride feels "rough" after a while. As a normal person who owns one and drives it often, what do you think? Is it comfortable? Would you purchase it again? :)

Wonderful ideas! I used to keep a few things, like deodorant in the car, but in the summer, I ended up with melted deodorant in my glovebox 😜 I have a little tote that I bring into the house, with my car essentials in it, so no melting (or freezing) happens.

If sunscreen gets hot, like in a van, it can actually go bad and lose its effectiveness. Or so a dermatologist told me once... So we no longer keep sunscreen in the car.

i keep most of those things in my diaper bag. so i just grab it when i go out with the kiddos. i have a car charger, and a garbage bag in my car thats pretty much it. oh and extra water.

I don't get it though, sun cream, wipes all gets destroyed in the heat. :(

So, here’s a thought. You have all this “emergency stuff” in the front of your car, but if you are in an actual emergency, and have to stop the car on the side of the road (or yea gods, something worse happens and you NEED to get out in a hurry), you’ll want your reflective emergency vests, a knife/hammer to slice through your seatbelt & hit out a window, and emergency lighting right near the driver’s seat. As well as a fully stocked first aid kid, that includes a mylar shock blanket, and pressure bandages etc. Safety first, especially when you are driving with kids!! Which reminds me, I have to go and install the emergency hammer in my car today (it is tucked underneath the glove compartment atm which is not a convenient spot.)

It gets to 110 almost everyday in the summer here. I can't keep anything in the car. My deodorant melts into a puddle, spray sunscreen explodes, baby wipes last 2 days tops. I hate it. I have to carry all that car stuff in my diaper bag 😕
