No one trust the brokers because there is no transparency. How many customers are told , "We quoted you 2500 dollars but could not find a truck because we offered them only 700 dollars so we could keep 1800 dollars." How many drivers are told, "Can you do the job for 700, even though the customer is being charged triple that by us?" If a broker would commit to charging a percentage of what they pay the trucker, rather than taking whole dragons hoards of treasure and trying to burn the drivers and customers to death, they would not have to hide in Bulgaria. (Sorry, for the bad analogy. I watched the Hobbit movies last month.) Real estate agents, perhaps being the third most despised profession (besides politicians) behind used car dealers and mechanics, are only the THIRD most despised profession because they only gouge a fixed percentage of the sale and that percentage is specified up front. I suppose you will delete this post like the other one I made where I partly disagreed with you, so I want you to know I appreciate you teaching us about the industry and why it is screwed up the way it is.

We try to reward companies that have better equipment / better histories by giving them even a higher rate then what's often posted on Central. We find them to do a better job on the orders by doing so. But when your commission check is directly related to the spread between the trucking rate and your quote - and nothing else matters - (especially from a commissioned employee working for a broker ) then your going to end up getting a terrible service and the broker will send the order out to the cheapest option available - as that will be the option that makes them the most money. Reputation in the mind of a broker employee is a total afterthought. Not to mention experience? These broker employees couldn't tell the difference between a wheel strap and a chain or a Cottrell and a Featherlite. Clueless is the word. The desperation and fear tactics employed by many of these outfits (Elite Auto Shipping comes to mind as one of the worst ) simply to get an order are really something. They rely on fear and gimmicks to get orders rather then quality and reputation.

Yes it for sure is. Much heavier , wider and longer.

I temporarily took the outer wheels off a dually to satisfy the wheel alignment guy that it would fit on the alignment machine. That doesn't address the fenders, but it might help. Oh, it isn't heavier, really. Two percent heavier. C'mon.

From personal experience, I’ve had another shipping company sabotage the broker I signed after seeing my information on Central. This business is cutthroat. Cheers!

As a personal experience, I had a major broker sabotage my broker by telling me that I will never get a carrier with my listing on Central. This business is cutthroat!
