If that ball is 2.5 cm as you say in the vid, then you likely have the worlds largest hands. I'm guessing that ball is closer to 1.5 cm.

What i have learned from other youtubers on this subject is the sun deforms/warps the suction cup

If the hard plastic shell warps, that is a problem, but most often it just small amounts of decay to the rubber part that ruins it.

@@donaldnelson69 If it's that badly broken, I don't know any way to fix it. I'd return / replace it.

yeah i have found if your holder has been attached for more than a few days in a hot area, it will never be reliable again if you take it off

How do you remove the old ball mount without destroying your socket? I have to agree with Joe. This is three minutes saying: the suction cup fails.

The ball literally pops out of the socket if you pull hard enough. I've never used tools nor had one break, but maybe I'm just lucky.

Will it ruin my dash or windshield? I just got a suction car mount.

I have never seen one cause damage, but it could happen in theory. My biggest worry was damaging the window film, but after 10 years i has not.

@@abbeymore1 If it is suction only and does not use any glue, there is a good chance it will be OK. But you can always test it short term and see.

I couldn’t get my suction cup to stay on my window for a long time, it keeps popping off😞, do you have any suggestions?

Check the edge carefully. If there are any spots that look dull or rough, then it's gone bad. It does not take much for it to leak and lose vacuum.
