Great information about Optimum Car Wax. In regards to the door jambs and other areas using the Kenotek, another great product for that application I have found is Optimum Opti-Clean. Since it is a waterless wash product, it has pretty good lubrication. It also doesn't streak or stain any plastics, etc. In fact I also use Opti-Clean as a quick wipe down product for my interior surfaces. Works great in that application and also smells amazing so the interior smells nice and fresh. I then take Nanoskin Extractor Shampoo (diluted down) in a warm bucket of water and soak a couple microfiber towels and wring them out and use that for doing a quick wipe down on all my interior fabrics. Nanoskin shampoo smells fantastic and complements the Opti-Clean smell perfectly. The interior smells great. The whole process is very quick and is great for a maintenance wash/quick interior refresh.

CarPro Ech2o can be used with any wax ,sealant etc....its not designed to just use with coatings as you are stating. If using as you are its a detail spray/waterless wash with high lubrication for any situation.

I've used it on wax. It doesn't do as well as I'd like. I feel like I'm just pushing it around. Plus, I think you'll begin to notice buildup of SiO2 after a while. Try this: use Hydro2 on you wax after a few washes. It doesn't play well. You eventually end up with significant build-up.

I posted this in the first video you had on OCW but didn't get a response since I was late to that party, but wanted to hear your thoughts still: The spray wax is a bit more difficult to use as a drying aid to me than CG hybrid v7. Since the recommendation is to spray it directly on the surface, it goes all over the place when spraying and you have to overlap as you go. Perhaps I was a bit heavy in spraying, but it was quite greasy in application, so I had to buff it off quite heavily with a dry towel as I went. I definitely agree that it feels like a real layer in protection, but I'm not sure I want to use it after every wash on a daily car.

Spray wax has some benefit to it rather than just aiding in drying. UV protection and a fresh layer of Carnauba make it worth the slight bit of effort.

I have a Lexus with pearl white paint. The dealer recommended that I use "silicone car wax" when waxing but wanted to get your opinion. Should I go with the optimum car wax instead? It looks like it works pretty well.
@ObsessedGarage
@ObsessedGarage 6 жыл бұрын
The dealer, in almost every case, know very, very little about how to care for a car's paint. If you want to wax, my go-to is Jescar Powerlock +, topped with 2 coats of Collinite 845, then use this Optimum Car Wax as a drying aid every time you wash.

I've owned a 2015 NX F Sport for 2.5 years now in Atomic Silver and the only thing I ever really do is clay bar in the spring after winter and add Optimum wax to Optimum no rinse if I wash it at home. If I wash it at the wand wash I will use Optimum car wax as a drying aid. Other than LOTS stone chips/road rash in my bumper because of all of the gravel they use in Alberta for the winter my paint looks great/like new. I don't even see any swirl or micro swirl marks and I think it is because I have always used the Optimum wax as a drying aid.
@mattdagger1480

I'm just wondering here but all these options seem to add something to the paint? If that's correct and u use theae products after every single wash I'm assuming adding and adding and adding this product on top of each other it's gonna end up causing some sort of haze or dullness at some point? Is there any type of drying agent that doesn't have any type of wax or gloss enhancer?? I feel like that would be the best option for a drying agent. If you buy a drying agent you just want to help the water come off. If you want spray wax buy spray wax but I just assume adding products like this over and over constantly is gonna end up in a haze
@ObsessedGarage
@ObsessedGarage 6 жыл бұрын
The idea is to add what was lost after washing. A detail spray like Adam's adds very little, so that could be an option. I've never had an issue with too much wax on the paint from using this as a drying aid.

Need help, from one Porsche owner to another, I have a black 2015 991.1 - I’m using a foam cannon, pressure washer and McKee’s air dryer - the problem is I have to wash outside (in the sun) most of the time. When I get around to drying the car, it was spotted like crazy because of the sun on the side that the car was exposed to (and it’s not even hot yet in Canada). So, is there any product I can spray on the water after rinsing that will allow me to buy more time to use my air blower on the car and dry without leaving water spots? Help!!!

Obsessed Garage I’ll take a look at CR spotless. Thanks for the reply. So, you aren’t going to believe what happened today - up in Canada Dr. Colorchip is known as Chipfixx. I saw your video on Dr. Colorchip and a number of others and I thought this was a good idea. Wow, I watched so many videos on how to apply it, read the instructions... I did 3 spots on my front driver side bumper... I now have two marred spots. I wish I could send a picture. I don’t know how this happened. I thought I was doing a good thing, I used gentle pressure of a single finger with the solvent and after I buffed it with some spray wax - the area was all scratched up. I seriously couldn’t believe it. Now I’m afraid to touch it further and clearly not using the chipfixx kit again. Any thoughts as to how it happened? I cleaned the area with the solvent and the provided cloth, let it dry, added the paint, let it dry, used a separate part of the provided cloth for removing of the excess paint gently with my index finger and almost zero pressure... buffed the area out by hand with some spray wax... and 2 marred marks over where the chips used to be... I’m so damn mad right now! I don’t know how that happened!!!
