SOOOOOO BEAUTIFUL!!!! That is the type of build I was "emulating" when I was 17 when I put 4 JL W0's in the back of my KIA Spectra hatchback!!! My friend and I both had W0's in our cars each running off "1500 watt" amps (I highly doubt they were running at their advertised wattage lol) his was an old Planet audio and mine was an old Orion...but when his car broke down, and since we both spent all our waking hours together, we took his system out of his Acura and we combined them into the Kia lmao.... well I can tell it was fun while it lasted.... about 0.3 seconds LMFAO!!! on the very first bass hit I shattered my hatchback window!!!! So it was an expensive little experiment, but it was fun... After sealing up the hatch with a sheet of plexi-glass and some plastic sheets and a LOT of duct tape it just didn't sound right for "SOME REASON" 🤪 Well after about a week of 'ghetto trunk' I got the glass replaced and we turned everything DOWN... A LOT!!! This way we avoided breaking any more cheapo glass and we didn't fry that little alternator, even with 2 massive caps the car wanted to die with the volume up over half way lol It was a fun experiment... and I kept it set up in the Kia for about month... mainly because both of us were too lazy to pull it all back out lol..... But it REALLY made me respect the amount of preparation, knowledge, and effort that goes into these professional builds that are made so well that it just LOOKS EASY to do yourself...well..... IT. IS . NOT ! !!!!! lol Watching you channel brings me back to a lot of memories of building systems for my friends and family and learning on the fly.. I wish I had videos of your expertise, but I don't even think youtube was around in 2000/2001 .. heck phones didn't even have on them like they do now... so I NEVER would have access to your knowledge back then... But I learn SO MUCH from you.. so THANK YOU!!! You make me feel young again lol :)

I can't remember.... we both bought 2 of them off of this guys that had 8 of them from his big setup in a van and they all matched....they were for sure 12" with DVC and I THINK we had them wired to run is 1ohm or maybe 0ohm....you could wire 2 of them together in series and I think it made the amp run with half the impedance as advertised and I think thats why I was sable to break the glass because they didn't sound like the same speakers as when had them with just one amp and 2 speakers in each car they sounded SUPER WIMPY and the amp didn't even seem to get warm,,,, so I'm pretty sure we were doing

The only reason the audio in this vehicle sounds amazing is due to vehicle prep and speaker location, not the actual equipment itself. Modern audio gear amongst all the name brands is excellent these days and with stock vehicles you'll never hear enough difference between the brands to matter. People typically just have a brand preference and that will never really change. But when it comes to really high end gear, unless you prep the vehicle thoroughly, do proper locations and setup and what not, all that expensive gear isn't going to sound any better. You can literally end up spending as much on vehicle prep as you do the gear.

Maybe it's just the brand? People make up all kinds of reasons to explain things they don't know. When you say the reason it sounds better is because it's class A/B, it really doesn't make sense. If you were to compare the lowest quality class A/B amp from a flea market to one of Alpine's top of the line class D amps, are you still sure that the class A/B is going to sound better? @@extrakimF Yup. But realize the cone area difference and even accounting for the rolloff it'll blend together fine.

It doesn't look like a 4th order. A big open side does not make a ported enclosure.

Why does the thumbnail have 4th order? It's a standard sealed box.

@@Kicker700Why would you just assume that the builder, designer and tuner of the vehicle would be wrong and you, who have never even seen the vehicle in person, is automatically correct? Were you able to calculate the subwoofer enclosure dimensions when the hatch is closed? Were you able to run impedance sweeps and calculate the tuning?

4th order when hatch is closed for the 12 subs, details were in the vid. Pretty cool
