When starting on a new voyage, you’re sometimes faced with a lack of knowledge. This can lead to decision paralysis. I’ll start the thought process for you and lead you in the right direction. I can’t tell you what caravan to buy, how much to spend or even what layout is best for you. But hopefully, I’ll plant the seed that starts you in the right track. Caravan tips.

When I started caravanning years ago, an old hand give me this tip which has stood me in good stead to this day, he said "when emptying the toilet cassette always keep your mouth closed" 8-)

Some great advice there Graham. When we bought our first caravan we soon realised it was the wrong layout for us, however it gave us the opportunity to give it a go. We've now got one that works well but I'm always looking! cheers Martin

Nice video Graham. You southern softies hahahaha. A bit of rain never stopped us from getting out and about. We just invested in some good walking boots and waterproof coats. It all adds to the fun and enjoyment of getting away from work etc. As for the toilet.... well you have to clean your toilets at home so no difference in a caravan. Ian...

It goes beyond just using it ourselves as we wanna test these Covid-riven waters to see if there is a market for rental as we belive the next couple of years people are gonna be looking for alternative styles of holidays. Think one of the most important things is where you are going to store it once you have purchased it, we ended up in the position of having to pick the caravan up from the dealer and going straight to a campsite as the storage yard couldn’t accept us until the following day. That all stemmed from thinking that it would be easy to find a vacancy at storage facilities- it wasn’t and took almost two weeks to find somewhere

Great vlog and a lot of good points.we bought ours a couple of years ago,it has a fixed rear bed and central washroom which is ideal,but we now wish we had rear twin beds.tbf that says more than it should but i can explain it easily,we have a staffie who thinks the rear bed is for her lol.

Good’ un Graham, always worth a watch mate... 👍🏻 I don’t know how many videos I watched, or how much great advice I received from the SMC (Initialisation! for Social Media Community), we originally purchased a small second hand ‘van and within three months, largely on impulse, because that’s how I roll, we’d acquired the Coach!... 🤷🏼‍♂️ 😆 Cheers matey, Rog... 👍🏻 😉 🐍

All sounds a wee bit negative this video. Think there are ways to mitigate and overcome everything you mention. Cold we day in a Wales- It's all about getting the right site so you can do things that are close to you. Loads of sites have indoor entertainment for kids so that you can choose to stay in the van or choose to leave. Similarly with the layout- Would be useful to hear about different ways to manage the areas of caution you mention.

My husband and I are thinking about getting a caravan (and maybe an awning) which would be stored on a coastal camping/caravan site, and the company would get our caravan out of storage when we need it. My husband is disabled so all of the chores would be done by me (I'm in my early 60s and I'm up for a challenge). Are there any tasks which would be beyond the strength of a woman? And are there any technical things to do?

Hi, thanks for watching. Absolutely not. Mandy does a lot of the setting up. The difficult bit is getting it onto a pitch and disconnecting it from the car, so with that done for you, it’ll be a breeze. You’d just need to connect electric, water and waste. Getting the water involves pulling a 40kg barrel, but that’s not as bad as it sounds. You’ll be fine, enjoy your caravan it’s a great way to relax. We were actually advised on this when we picked up our van however i have been away by myself,and the dog,and have had to use it.first thing the mrs said upon my return was you better have not used that for no2s lol

You seem concerned about the number of thumbs downs you get...IMO you need to be confident in your presentation. And maybe break up the still videos by adding in a few short videos or photos of the actions you mention.
