I like your positive ways of getting to the problem. Some people don't troubleshoot to see what cause it to how it happened and what we learned from this. I work on a tractor one time at a shop , where the battery would not last a month and came back for me to find out why. After removing the battery out the battery box I noticed the mounting bolt to secure the box to the frame was installed with the nut to inside with thread sticking out quarter of a inch. The battery would move around and put a hole in bottom of the battery itself. The little things sometimes get unnoticed. Your doing alright.

LOL.....I love Poulan so much …..There simply the best …..Seals leak , Tank caps swell , oilers are crap, carbs suffer issues as a result of modern gasolines often swelling of check valves, neoprene fuel lines rot, Coils go bad …….and who can resist 42 ccs of screaming skipped tooth performance ….C&L I like your videos but seriously no more Pull ons …..We both know there junk and gathering a reputation for working on these things isn't good for business . However the Walbro and Zama metering guage is great advice....So great video { Truly Thumbs up on this } I have used kit 500 /500 for years with my Emac kit for 2 cycle equipment and must say the guage is highly recommended when replacing a needle .

For that center tab on the W tool, it's 60 to 70 thousandths below the level sealing edge (welch plug type)-so one could use a straight edge and feeler gauges or squeeze a wire to 65 thou then use it with straight edge. Save yer bucks on the W gauge. Circuit plate type,straight across the flats next to the tab

Really good tool info.Digging around my late fathers tool shed.I found his older Snapper 16" (prob Poulan)chainsaw -$12 carb w/fuel lines/bulb/filter off ebay ..fired on third pull. I plan to only use TruFuel or the other ethanol free stuff. Enjoyed your lesson here,THANK YOU.

Trouble came in 3x,,,especial the alll manufactors make a diferent high on wacum gumb...thats min always ader measurement tool...easy way is to mesare the high to be a on 0,1 to 0,3mm on hand witch control the pin of gas..,its sometime turtlle yob but nesesery...on the end low &high speed,,,but always on the end its OK...be safe end percosesh on woodworcking...

Hmm, I have not heard that squeaky noise on a carb before but I have on my back side. Thanks for the tool tips.

If you have an air leak on your crank SEALS or base gasket most of the time you can't hear it instead of pressure testing and easy and cheap way is to use brake cleaner as soon as that brake cleaner hits that leak it shuts off that's if you have it saw that will run it all

It`s a nice video tutorial. But what do we have to do if we have no carb from any of manufacturers from this video, please? Our Kawasaki brush cutter has an old style Japanese carburetor marked as TY (probably Yamaha). Do you have any suggestion towards to how adjust this lever position or which tool can be used for this task, please? Thank you

Does the same measuring method work for every model stamped on that side of the tool?

I have a Walbro WYA carburetor and that tool you have does not show WYA on it but the Walbro service manual for the WYA series carburetors shows an picture of that tool on the last page of the manual for this carburetor. In another video someone showed two different Walbro metering tools. The other one looked like a slanted W and had WYA on it. I can find that metering tool anywhere. Do you know if the tool you have is also meant for the WYA carbs?

How did you get it to make that air leak sound...were you priming it?
