What is Carbon-Cleaning?
When burning fuel in a petrol, diesel or LPG engine, small amounts of carbon residue are produced and some of these carbon particles cling to the internal components and airways within the engine, over time these carbon particles build-up and form a crusty residue over the working parts within your engine. Valves, pistons, turbo-vanes and EGR valves are all at risk of being effected by excessive carbon deposits.

Our Carbon Cleaning machines are fast, efficient, and completely safe. The machine automatically manages the hydrogen pulse into the engine. The effects of injecting hydrogen makes it possible to raise the combustion temperature to trigger a pyrolysis, a chemical reaction that vaporises, and eliminates carbon deposits. We simply insert a tube from our engine-decarbonising machine into the air intake duct of an engine and leave the process to run. The average vehicle takes 30-45 minutes to be cleaned. It would have been useful and easy to put a borescope in to both the cylinder head and intake manifold before and after the 'cleaning' process. The big green box appears to be just a simple electrolysis device where passing a current through water (with some additive e.g. salt, to speed up the gas bubble production) to get hydrogen and oxygen at the electrodes. However, a large amount of steam is also produce, which will also pass along the tube in to the intake. It is very doubtful that sufficient hydrogen is produced to actually do anything to clean the intake, valves and cylinders etc. Simple proof that hydrogen is being produced is to take a sample of the bubble in a bottle and put a match to the opening. You'll get a pop (nothing more to show that hydrogen is present. The magic green box treatment is simple con. There is no hard evidence that the engine is cleaned and you couldn't tell by just driving the car (unless there had been a misfire which had gone after the 'cleaning' process was carried out). I can't believe people fall for this type of thing.

My pal was foolish enough to let one of these guys loose on his 2011 Audi RS5, £80 and 1 hour later he now has a cylinder misfire on 2 and 5, car cuts out, he forced it to idle by holding revs and it drove like it’s on square wheels. Car had a full green health check from Audi 2 weeks ago, car is on a flatbed going to Audi now, awaiting a big bill and court proceedings against the “carbon cleaner” for cost of putting it right.

There is a quick and easy way to find out how much carbon is in your engine. Just put an endoscope down the spark/glow plug holes and you can see how much carbon is inside the cylinders. EGR valves and suchlike are easy enough to remove so that wouldn't really be in issue. Some before and after shots would prove if this works or not. I use BG products to clean the fuel system. When I first MoTd my Mk4 Astra it only scraped through the emissions test. I started using the BG products and the emissions went right down on subsequent MoTs.

I had UK Carbon Cleaning (UKCC) come out to do a stage 3 clean on my Stage 1, 2008 Audi TT with 70K miles on the clock and no record of the service being done prior. The car felt amazing after the service. Smooth acceleration, punchier whilst offering a much more refined power delivery. Highly recommended.

I've had a few Hydro cleans done, tbh I can't say it did a single thing, two were dirty turbo vanes and one was an EGR, Terraclean works a bit better, though not always, but, frankly, for the cost you can buy a new turbo core and EGR and still pocket £100.....and that works every damn time lol. The Wynn's intake spray works well, though you often need two cans, the measly 200ml isn't adequate.

Remember whenever you connect or disconnect jump leads and the machine is ON. It could create a spark... Not good having a spark near hydrogen.

Yes mate very true but don't forget you can also turn this machine off before you disconnect the battery and if you're even more worried than that just let the top open let it all vent and you will have no issue I've never had any issue with it

Leon i had my work van 2005 transit connect carbon cleaned today i wasn't to sure how it was guna turn out but mate i drove it home what a difference it responds better with acceleration it felt like it was going through gears better the bloke who did it said its guna be better on fuel efficiency to only time will tell with that 1 but theres no smoke bellowing out or not as much as b4 lol overall im impressed SORTED 👍

I'm really glad it made a difference mates I think the problem with this is most people think when they have a problem this machine is going to fix it where in some cases they have a mechanical issue which obviously this machine will do no good if you got a car in issue as you can see this machine works let's just hope more people actually understand this before they comment

Great video Leon in describing how the machine works! When the carbon is vaporized, I assume that its residue is passed right out the exhaust and no need to worry about an oil change. Have a good one!

I had it done. 322bhp /712nm before, 329bhp/720nm a week after, accounting for air temp and fuel additive mix between runs, statistically no improvement. Wasted £100 I could have put towards shell v-power. 2013 jag XF 3.0v6 186k miles.

id say these machines work well...but only before mechanical issues start...intake manifold,egr,valves,turbo oil feed pipe etc id say stripped and cleaned manually...but this machine will probably clean piston crowns abit and maybe oil gallies

Nice video. Had this done on my Jaguar xf-s 3.0L with 140k on clock. Unfortunately right at end the coolant outlet manifold split open (part JDE 38234 ) which sits on top of the V6 . Whether the temp increase caused this @ 120c plus or it was a malfunctioning part anyway I cannot say. But the guy doing the clean went straight to the part saying this was a common part to fail. Cost me £40 for part and £15 for coolant to replace and about an hour to change it all. Car does seem to run quiter but just a heads up if you do an xf xj xk etc as they have this outlet which is ABS GRP made and known to spit in half and steam cleans the engine with coolant when it goes . Not seen any increase in mpg but I do 40 miles a day on motorway so it's too right foot up and down in traffic to tell yet as it's only been 4 weeks since the clean . Hope this bit of war and peace is a benefit to someone !! Certainly got my hands dirty that day removing air inlet and egr return pipes to get to the bloomin part that busted. Bit of research on vehicle before you send the hydrogen in and send the coolant temp through the roof I would defo recommend. This was my experience and not deflaming the process , just a heads up on what could happen.. There's a pun there... 🤔😂 Nightmare ... all sorted now 👍👍

Shandybrother Coincidence , possibly. He didn't divulge that info 😂😂 But I had a chat with a guy at JLR and it appears this part is designed to fail in the event of overheat / high pressure rather than looking a head or head gasket fail 😂 The carbon clean does increase engine temp which was evident on the scan tool and pressure on coolant obviously increases with temp but I would rather have a piece of moulded plastic go than a head 🤣🤣👍👍 . My advice is research before you shove a pipe in otherwise a customer might get a tad upset 😂😂👍👍😢

There's a pressure release in the coolant cap, to release pressure in a overheat condition. can't see why they would want a plastic pipe to split and spray coolant all over the engine

Jon Tanneguy hi mate it all depends on exactly how bad if it is if it's really bad to the point where the car cannot start then the only option is to take everything apart and manually clean it this cleaner works better when the parts are hottest of the hot of the parts like EGR valve in turning the engine valve etc it works really well it will help the intake but if it's too bad you have to manually clean it

HAHA spot on Leon with dealing with customers...sad but true. Change cabin air filter and AC fails b/c of low refrigerant but the filter change is what caused it. All you can do is smile and explain how the system works unless they get stupid and then well... Nice unit Leon!!

I had my BMW 320d treated with one of these machines, it took 45 minutes to put hydrogen into the induction side. Did I notice any difference ? No difference at all this is a waste of in my case £60.

Just take the spark plugs out snd take photos before and after mate... And heck if it was my job i would buy a micro camera to look inside the chamber better so you csn have proof and get even more customers

Hi mate it's like everything if a big enough piece goes through yes it can do damage but the machine just basically breaks it down to absolutely nothing so there is no damage occurred but if a piece moves and goes into the wrong place yes it can cause damage or the car to run very badly

Krzysztof Kacprzak hi mate no no disclaimer as this cannot do any damage the carbon is burnt up and the hydrogen is burnt up no damage will occur during this process if the car has a problem I will not do this process we have to check the car is suitable before we do anything just like you would do in any situation

Hi mate, I have a similar machine, when I take the top cap off I can see all the hydrogen coming out...however the bottle trick didn’t work it wasn’t letting bubbles out like yours...any suggestions?

Cheers pal, It’s just asif there’s no force pushing the gas out but when the main lid is open you can definitely see all the gas been created, does the pressure have to build up in the main tank to push it out you reckon?

Hydrogen as a catalyst? Really? A catalyst doesn’t get consumed. Hydrogen reacts with oxygen, ie, burns. It acts as just another fuel. Just use a cylinder of hydrogen gas.

I imagine the machine is cheaper in the long run that using gas cylinders. And I believe this machine is generating Brown's gas which is actually hydrogen plus oxygen in their basic form.

leon,please help why is my mondeo tdci 2.0 diesel keep going into limp mode even though i have cleaned the egr, it even shows limp mode even when i start up. im at my wits end.

Once the diesel engine was simple and would last many years.. Now the manufacturers are wise to this old practice and make sure all sorts of gadgets can give you the dangerous limp mode.. If it's really unhappy maybe when you overtake.. They came up with great ideas like mixing exhaust gasses with oil vapour so your car can run on tar.. Its OK though better mpg just suicidal engines especially if you have wonderful swirl flaps.. You soon start losing that money saved on mpg... Now you can have an even newer one with more of these gadgets. Having fun with all the fault codes, moral of the story don't over complicate but where's the fun in that.

You are aware of course that potassium hydroxide dissolved in water dissolves aluminium amongst other things? Put some in a pyrex bottle with a bit of aluminium foil and see what happens but don't light any matches near it!

The chinese also make these 'machines' which are very good quality. This is just plain old electrolysis and this particular machine doesnt cost the garage anything to run as it uses the vehicles battery to power it, it uses 316l stainless steel plates inside. garages will make 100% profit off these machines.

Hi I have heard that it is not recommend to use water or water mist in the turbo inlet because the water can destroy the turbo blades.

Most interesting my only concern would be somehow it would damage the catalysts. If all that gas coming out the tube is Hydrogen that is a LOT.

Eric Corse hi mate all the hydrogen and carbon is burnt up in the engine will not cause any problems to the catalytic converter but like I said in the video we will check out the car first to make sure it's mechanically sound before we would go and do this just like you good with anything

Nice video. Have you thought of getting one of those cheap boroscopes with the ability to take and save a photo? Could allow you to pull a glow plug or pop a pipe off and get some before or afters?

thats a waste of time lad, water in a spray bottle does the same job for cheaper, its ok for the customer who is ignorant to how engines really work.but for those of us who do we know the deal with mechanics and garages ,,saying no names, this is why i do all my own work as you just can not trust any mechanic..if you want a job done do it yourself that way you know its done and done right,you dont need a cert ,sur anyone can have a cert but are they experienced though.keep up the good work and no im not a key board warrior.

You can't have much experience then if you use a spray bottle, anyone who actually knows engines knows using a spray bottle is just a temporary fix. After days, weeks or a few months, the problem is back. Yeah when you want a job done right, do it yourself. Its your method thats a waste of time. Do your research before speaking shite.
