You can use acetone or nail polish remover to remove CA glue in case you need in the future.

You need to patent that mount before the Chinese do. Awesome job. Did you say that the struts on the drag boat were close to the transom, i would have thought the longer the better for balance.

That motor mount is great, you have a lot more room than I thought. Full scale drag boats have the props up close, even under the hull but we trust your judgment Big B see the old drag boat was exhilarating 👍 BGFL AdamEverythingRc that turn fin is from an Aquacraft UL-1 maybe ebay ? I checked OSE no dice.

I looked thru my parts bin and found the 2 sets of turn fin mounts I used on the original drag boat struts, I thought I used them for another build, I believe I'm gonna use them for this build. I agree that having the props close to the transom may work out for the better. I thought that was a uL1 turn fin? I've been meaning to ask you about it?

You know, model drag boats are an un-filled niché in the RC boating realm. I wish somebody made a hull/kit to do a realistic semi-scale Top Fuel Drag Boat. Monos, cats, hydros, and tunnels are everywhere, but NO drag boats. I have a conversation going with a 3-D printer guy thinking a 3-D print would make a really good start for a super-precision plug. Maybe a BG group project: One guy makes a plug, another makes a mold, another starts pulling hulls. Who knows?? 🤔

Good looking build B! I was wondering, do you run thrust bearings? Or do you rely on the motor bearings? I run a thrust bearing using the aft motor bell as the push-point, then mount the coupler up to it. I push on the motor shaft from the front side while tightening the set screws for the coupler. Remember, the C-G isn't just weight contributed. Where the push-point is has an affect on the dynamic C-G. Drag boat wants the push-point aft, like you're favoring now. Helps the launch... But circle boats would prefer the push-point closer to the weight C-G point. I ended up setting my motors well forward of your position looking for good cornering. I think I'm going to learn something here! Looking forward to it buddy!

B! Have you thought of using some J-B Weld to fill the mold imperfection on that prop, or even some thickened epoxy? Since that prop is primarily copper you could also fill it with solder if you want to go through the trouble. Use solder with a high tin content so not to add too much extra weight to the blade. If it were me I would probably just use some thickened epoxy, clean it up, check the balance, and call it DUN! BG4L Bro!

Yes. I did consider jb weld. However, solder sounds better, and I'll have to practice on an old prop. Will I get around to doing it is a whole other story 😆 Thanks for the idea

Great set up BigB , this is going to be a ripper . You touched on a topic i always wondered about and that is prop weight especially when running dual motors , i know we are talking about very small numbers but a prop is a spinning mass and if one is heavier then the other then the motor and ESC will respond differently to that load , resulting in one side a tad hotter then the other possibly . This is an unproven theory considering the weight of a RC boat prop but curious about your thoughts .

To be honest, I don't think it would impact temperature or the driveline. I think it has more to do with the amount of thrust you get from each prop, pushing the boat. We run all different size and pitch props with different weights on the same motor and drive line so IMHO running one prop heavier than the other shouldn't make a huge impact, but I'm wrong to often to count so take my opinion with a grain of 🧂 salt. Having more thrust on one prop opposed to the other prop will or could cause a premature power cut if there not synced up. Rabbit hole 😆
