@@rishabhtiwari8207 if you can afford fees for MBA , go for it and trust me if MBA is done in top institute like IIM etc than only its worth it else not. Pursuing Phd is lot more difficult than MBA considering the time and energy spent. Uncertainity is high after phd, whereas MBA if pursued in top colleges can get you in corporate sectors. If you are a middle class guy, are ur parents supportive of phd? Now, it depends on your mental aptitude,

Is it worth to do your PhD from private universities like BITS . Is there any drawbacks?

there is not any particular drawbacks ...it all depends on your research topic and the way you have done your phd. I will not talk about publications as they really don't matter if you want to join industry. Only thing is if you have IIT brand with you it can help you a bit

@@prateek2987singh Sir will there be any disadvantage for getting admission for Post Doc in top universities in US if someone chooses NOT to do PhD from IIT and instead do PhD from IISc, ISI or TIFR? Will the brand value be diluted a bit (comparing to old IITs)... Actually I am getting both IISc and IIT Bombay direct PhD - CS but I am more inclined towards IISc for personal reasons.

@@epictetus__ if your aim is to go for Post doc then IIT is what matters, I got 3 post doc offers from US and I think IIT brand plays an important role. IISC is also a brand but not many foreign professors knows that, if you chose any Indian origin professor, who is US then it will be no problem. Now there is another thought to ponder upon, why post-doc ? I got three offers but joined a reputed firm in India with a very good compensation. US universities hire good phd candidates on a very low salary. According to me its need to be changed.

If u r doing PhD, how can you be so negative that there ll be job Orr not.....for ofcourse there ll be job only case is that u should be skilled that's all is phd.

Mr. X There's no guarantee of anything, no degree can guarantee you Job security. All you have to do is develop skills and make urself worth that anyone is willing to hire you
