We are waiting for our pegasus messina grande to be made then shipped to us it is getting made this month. I particularly liked your advice on storage, motor movers and seeing your pitches you stay at. We belong to the NZMCA and thoroughly enjoy staying at the sites available to us. Keep up the good work. We have our 26ft caravan but we have noticed we couldn't get to some areas because caravan is to big We have decided to have campervan made which we will able to get to areas where we can't use caravan Husband happy because it will have same luxury as in caravan and still able to have sky for football on 32" 12volt TV Shower with seperate toilet I insisted and full cooker and full fridge freezer Won't get rid of caravan as we are still going to be using it and when get tired of towing we will have it sited

Enjoyed this, we have friends who have moved from MH to Caravaning. They are both in their 70 is and find the caravan easier. We will stay with our caravan .

Thank you for a nice vlog :) In order to save on gas from CalorGas, I have invested in Safefill 7.5 and 10 kg gas cylinders, the cost of buying gas cylinders is high, but legalization is for 10 years, A small gas cylinder of 7.5 kg Safefill has already saved me £ 148 (5 refueled times since 2020) for a large gas cylinder of 10 kg Safefill 105GBP (refueled twice since 2021). The downside of the caravan, there is not always a place on the road in the parking lot to stop. Plus a caravan, I leave everything at the campsite and go sightseeing in a normal car ;)

We have a varied caravan/motorhome "history" going back a while, and it was really interesting to hear from others about their "journey" and how they arrived at the decisions they took about leisure vehicles. Thanks Keith and Michele (and friends) for another informative video. We bought our first caravan yesterday (a second hand 2015 Swift Elegance 580) after exploring both options of motorhome or caravan. We decided that a caravan offered us so much more for our money and this was our reason for choosing one. We have been trawling through many KZfaq videos to try and absorb as much information and as many tips as we can in preparation for our new adventures and yours we have found to be amongst our favourites, so thank you for all you do, for beginners like us, your videos are invaluable. We collect our van in a few weeks and are excited and nervous at the same time but we are sure that once we've been out on a few trips, we will love it! We are part of the new generation joining, our family in our early 30s with a young son and just acquired our first caravan, but we can’t take her out until mid june as we are waiting for my partner to complete his B+E course, we were actually lucky to get on the B+E course before August, most places are fully booked up!

That was a fantastic video, I love watching you both so so helpful, I'm new to caravanning I brought mine last December and I have to honestly say I love it, been away in my van now two times and watched a lot of your videos and learnt so much, also my parents are caravanners so I'm lucky in that respect, my advice to anyone that's new to it to be like me buy a second hand caravan and you'll absolutely love it Many thanks again Martin 👍👍

Hi. Another good video. But I did notice in your video the caravan your filming in has the jockey wheel up off the ground having been caravaning for about 14 years I've always left the jockey wheel down to help take the weight off the corner steadies.

Wise words chaps. I’ve just been through the decision process with one of my brothers. He’s bought a Bailey Caravan and loves it. Having moved on from a VW camper van he’s had for years.

An interesting discussion. We had a motorhome but changed to a caravan for the flexibility of having the car; at 7.5m the Moho was not ideal for trips out as parking can be difficult in peak season. The balanced experiences of both types of van are explained well by you all and would certainly help anyone in their research whilst considering their options.

Great discussions. Thank you! Well we've tried so much in the leisure dept. We have had 5 caravans and 2 narrow boats and now have realised that we wanted to return to the freedom of caravans/motorhomes. So we've sold our boat which we found quite restrictive in the distance we could travel as we both still work full time. We have bought a new to us 2007 motorhome and are absolutely thrilled with it. We are using it frequently, are travelling further distances and just find it easier than a caravan. We have no desire to tow and if we end up wanting that we will probably return to a caravan. So far we haven't felt at all restricted as to where we can go and our motorhome is 7.34m long. Just plan ahead. Either choice it's a fab outdoor, independent way of life which we love!! Still love a foreign break though and are lucky to have both....covid allowing. ...

Great video guys. Thank you. I’m about to buy my first motorhome after having rented several many years ago. After the seclusion of lockdown provided me with a taste of what life might be like in retirement (!) I decided to sell up and travel, so I’ll be living in the motorhome full-time. After several weeks of researching online I opted for a Bailey 79-4I (unseen). I’ve been agonising over two things: Firstly whether to fit the Gaslow system in place of Calor. After listening to your comments I’ve made my mind up. Gaslow it is. Secondly, whether to fit lithium leisure batteries. I’m still working, so power for my laptop and WiFi (I’ve yet to decide on a mobile WiFi system) are paramount if I decide to spend any length of time off-grid. The Bailey comes with a 100 watt solar panel so I’ve decided to compromise for the time being and buy a Bluetti AC200P with its own solar panel and see how I get on. Delivery of the new Bailey has been pushed back to the end of July. Fingers crossed now because it’s all tied in with the sale of the house! Once again… many thanks… you now have a new Subscriber!

Just sold our motorhome for a caravan. The cost of tax, insurance and maintenance and MOT of a motorhome as it is basically a very expensive vehicle and then to have to tow another vehicle on an A frame which incurs all the costs above again was crazy. To have your car and a home from home caravan is a no brainer. Packing up the motorhome just to go out for the day was a real hassle.

Hi Keith & Michele we have just watched your video on this wet and cold day 🌂🥶 haha and you covered all the things we looked at when we were ready to by a caravan.We went for a caravan for us is we love going out and about once we have set up.At this time a motor home is not for us.But as time go’s on we may look at motorhomes.You guy’s have the same problem as us here in New Zealand 🇳🇿 there is a big shortage of new Caravan’s for people to get there hands on some dealers say up to eight months to a year.So this has pushed the price of secondhand caravans out the roof because we can not travel overseas so people are travelling around NZ.We have said to people that are looking at caravanning is to go secondhand first to see if it is for them and if it is then go for it.We are looking at getting away this weekend as the weather is looking good we need the time out haha working hard out this last couple of months you guy’s are looking well keep up with the great 👍 videos cheers for now from Craig & Wendy.

A very interesting vlog and nice to hear two different sides of the coin. Certainly made us stop and think about which way is best for us, having owned in the past caravans and trailer tents ( Dandy ). the video has given us a few more questions to answer . One thing is clear to us we do not want to go under canvass when you are young OK . But as you get older you need your creature comforts .

We have a standard width caravan but I think we are going to get an 8 foot wide one, In bed last night Angie said she would love an extra 6 inches !

Something young caravaners will have to look into the weight of the car and caravan anyone who passed their driving test after Jan 1997 can only drive and tow unto 3,500 KG which can put a limit on the caravan. This sadly is a legal requirement and they will have to do a B+E licence. Something I gladly that i looked into and was aware of when buying our caravan. plus leaving plenty of Weight for anything additional that we had to bring. Happy Camping

So why did you swap from caravans to motorhomes? We are thinking about swapping love motorhomes but when you get on site and you wanna go for a meal what do you do. You seen a nice restaurant out and it may be 10 or 15 miles away what do you do?
