We love Polmanter and have been going for years. We walk to and from St Ives or Carbis bay at least once a day but sometimes twice. You get used to the hills, although it is more challenging climbing after a few pints of Rattler outside the sloop😂

Such a shame missed so much avoid steinstow (Padstow) wonderful place 15 years ago. Mousehole (mousle) wonderful original fishing port. Fabulous county. We always stay at Dinham farm park opposite steinstow near rock. No shop no bar maybe a pool but bin closed since COVID. But a fab place. If your self contained the sky's the limit. As much space as you want. Washrooms new clean and very well appointed. Pay per person. Not per pitch. Tents. (Us) caravan. (brother in law). Motorhome. ( Another bro in law) all together all with electric and as much space as we wanted. If it sounds like an add it is. Wonderful site. We go every year at least once.

We're in Brum. So about 255 miles. We travel overnight and stop often. Do not travel to Cornwall from the mids or north from on a Saturday. You will be on M5 for several plus hours. !!!!!!!

So sorry your holiday was cut short by covid it’s not going away is it. But your video up to then was great I just love Cornwall just can’t beat it especially when you get good weather. I’m just turned 60 and havre been visiting all my life. We came back from Dordogne in France 3 weeks ago but off to Cornwall in the morning near Perranporth and can’t wait. Always have a trip to St Ives just beautiful. Anyway hope you both get your strength up soon and a huge congratulations to you for your forthcoming new arrival to the family. Take Care

After all that travelling to such a beautiful site and then having it cut short so abruptly was such a shame . Sorry your Cornwall trip was cut short. Good that you are coming back next year. We were just around the headland at Sennen Cove probably at the same time as you. We love Cornwall but it’s easy as we only have a 2 hours drive to St Ives, 2.75 with the van. Regards John & Wendy

Hi guys. Lovely to see Cornwall. My grandparents originated from there...up on the north coast at Padstow. We went there always in the summer holidays. Me and my son have both had covid...even when we were positive we had no ill effects. We got the negative test on good friday and since then we do weekly test at home...the test cost us nothing as he gets them from the place where he works. Stay well and stay safe. I´m afraid to say that Covid will be with us for along long time.

Exactly the same thing happened to us when we were at Lady's Mile in Dawlish Warren, first week of July. I tested positive the day before we were due to leave but we made the decision to leave and go home the next day. Glad we did as I was not sure I would have made it the next day! Like you a nearly 6 hour journey. Margaret tested positive but not until several days later. It does hang around a bit even after you test negative. Wouldn't mind but we have both had four vaccinations!!! The problem was we were due to move to a site in Wells, which we had fully paid for, so we lost all that money as the site didn't suggest they would move the booking. How did your site deal with you going home early? Obviously it was our decision not to go so I suppose I can't blame the site but a little goodwill would have gone a long way! Glad I found your video as the site you stayed at looks rather nice.

So sorry to hear your holiday was spoilt by covid. We can sympathise as in June the morning we were all packed up and ready to go hubby felt off colour, made him test and yep that big red line was there. I closely followed. Five days in bed feeling rotten and three weeks to shake off the worst fatigue ever. We managed to get away to the coast a couple of weeks ago and four days in the caravan was the best medicine ever. Get well soon both, covid is no joke.x

Sorry to hear about your Holiday coming to an unfortunate end. I unfortunately caught Covid in Feb. Lateral flow tests were Negative the whole time. Only PCR Tests, for 4 weeks showed positive, yet i had no signs and symptoms, only finding out i was positive due to a PCR Test, taken to fly abroad due to requirement of the Airline. I hope you both fully recover soon. I understand your views on the Campsite you booked, but there are 2 Campsites in my humble view far, far better with proper amazing Cornish sea views. Keith and Michele, a little advice from a true Cornishman(!!). There is only 1 Caravan/Motorhome Campsite to go to in St Ives with views and is 15 mins walk, if that, into the heart of St Ives, it is called Ayr Holiday Park. If visiting St Ives again, book a serviced pitch at this site, as it is far more usable to get into St Ives daily and at night with far better sea views. For the best Caravan/Motorhome Campsite in Cornwall with amazing views from every pitch, it can only be Trewethett Farm Caravan Club Site, near Tintagel, with beautiful Boscastle not far away. It is in my top 3 sea view campsites in the UK. All the best for your next Cornwall adventure.

Did you mean a Wind sock that’s gives a wind warning so people can see the direction of the wind

St Ives looks lovely, the site is too big and busy for me. My sister lived in Looe for over 25 years and I found the best time to visit was in the off season, not so many people around and weather was still fairly good. Fowey is well worth a visit, amongst many other places.

Sorry to hear you were not able to fully enjoy your holiday. Thankyou though for showing enough of the site and the recommendation. I have just booked for four nights in September this year. Luckily for us, only about an hours drive. What were the access roads like into site? We have a 2.3 metre wide motorhome and not a fan of narrow roads!

The prices for holiday accommodation in st ives has gone through the roof so we do a local haven site which is cheaper. Covid can make you feel awful ... did me... but havent had it for two years ... hears hoping not especially on a holiday! Oh dear. We did have to come home early for a dodgy leg but not covid! Sorry your holiday was wasted by covid. WARNING you can't believe a negative lateral flow test test for all sorts of reasons. Also be aware that you can test positive for up to 90 days after being infected. As a very brief biog I'm a recently retired Pathology Manager and my last 2 -3 years were largely taken up with covid testing.

Yes covid is horrible. Had it last year. Love St Ives. Went there every year in the 80's and 90's.
