We pray to Jesus and the Holy Spirit as well. We also ask for prayers from those who have gone before us marked with the sign of faith and are enjoying the beautific vision as well. I'm a cradle Catholic. Thank you for explaining the church teachings on intersessory prayer. I have been in situations where Protestants' negative comments are made about how Catholics pray. I respond to this by asking if they would pray for me. Certainly. Is the reply. I then tell them that's why we pray to Our Blessed Mother. She is closer to Jesus than we are.

A prayer to Carlo Acutis would be a prayer to God. We’re asking Carlo to pray for us. Like you would ask a friend to pray for you. God fulfills the prayer whether he’s prayed to directly or whether we ask a Saint for intercession.
