Both tracks and tires have pros and cons. I've ran both and I think the tracks worst best for us! The best part about the tracks on this unit is the carriage shrinks down to 30" wide which allows us to fit through almost any gate. A wheeled unit will typically have to have one or both dual tires removed and then refitted once passing through a gate to maintain the machine stability while working. The tracked units typically don't have any issue climbing chip piles and are a lot easier and quicker to maneuver into position. The obvious trade off is that sometimes an aggressive 90 degree turn can cause some turf damage so we do our best to not make sharp turns if we can avoid it!
