I’ll keep it one hundred with you and admit that Carmelo Anthony’s hatred toward Kevin Garnett was intense but brief. The crux of their feud boils down to a single blowup in January 2013. But the aftermath of that single incident allowed fans and the media to keep their beef alive for nearly a decade while ruining Honey Nut Cheerios for the two in the process.

@RoboNinja Well, last time I checked teams won playoff games and not one player. When he was in his prime, name one team he played on that had a chance to make the finals. He could be a bad help defender, but he was a pretty decent one on one defender. Do you hold all stars to that same standard? Many of them aren't great defenders. People like you didn't watch Melo, you heard the narratives and just ran with him.

They can say what they want but Carmelo waiting outside the bus for Garnett, the fact that he was so mad and that being so random of a thing to say makes me think that's exactly what happened. They just tryin to play it off now. Notice they never tell you what was said and Carmelo joked about being "hungry for Cherrios". All the elements of this makes this one of the funniest sports beefs of all time. I was dyin laughing the entire video. Carmelo standing outside the bus screaming at Garnett "my girl don't taste like Cherrios bruh", while Garnett sneaks out the back is hilarious. Video of the day.

Congrats Carmelo on a great career. One of the most under appreciated players in the leagues history. He got an entire generation of kids into the NBA with his play style.

Is he really that "underappreciated"? He will be a first ballot Hall of Famer for sure, even if it might be due to his college and Team US success. He is celebrated as a 3 time Gold Medalist and broke quite a few FIBA records. And he got a lot of respect for adapting and becoming a role player in his finale years, which many critic did not see coming. Some people will claim, that he somewhat wasted his prime, but those people also have a point. But even those critics will put him into the Hall of Fame...

@@PassivesAbseits yes he is underappreciated. watch any discussion about melo, and you'll very soon see it flooded with claims about bad defense, being a locker room cancer, a ballhog who doesnt pass and unwillingness to adapt - and while all those were true to some degree during the first half of his career, melo changed drastically - but nobody wants to appreciate that. he played decent defense and a very patient supporting vet role on portland and the lakers, averaged 14ppg on good percentages and adapted much more to the 3 point line. but whenever people talk about melo, they want to ride the "great scorer but not a winning player" narrative, and that sucks.

Congrats to Melo on a great career. Definitely one of the greatest scorers in NBA history and a surefire first ballot Hall of Famer for sure. It's really a shame that he couldn't win a championship. As for his beef with KG, Melo's then-wife Lala would confirm in her own book that there is no truth that KG called her "honey nut cheerios" and that KG and Melo are cool now.

His game aged like cheese and his absolute lack of playoff success as a supposed "superstar" and mediocre advanced stats shouldn't make him a hall of famer but unfortunately some people worship the iso 1 vs 5 mentality of some of these shot chuckers.

Also, it should be noted, that after KG got inside Melo's head that day, Melo was still on the court, but Melo's head was 100% taken-out of the game and distracted - just by the sound vibrations that came-out of KG's legendary big mouth! Melo had zero impact for the rest of the game and Boston went-on to win the game major-league style... ^^
