beautiful tree, i just got 2 and cant wait to get them in the ground in the spring. Do you spray anything on the tree to keep pests away?

Nice harvest! thanks for the episode! How is your ranier cherry tree doing? I purchased a ranier based upon your tree! Unfortunately, this year I had the worst luck and didn't get any cherries.

Thank you. My rainier cherry tree is very large tree now. We get about 3-4 gallons of cherries yearly but the squirrels love them and they pretty much eat them all. We end up with about maybe 50 cherries by the time the animals are done with them.

These are called Carmine Jewel Cherries. They are bushes and dwarf variety so will not grow large. They are a bit tart in taste compared to other cherries but they are great for making pies and cobblers. Here is the video when we first got these plants kzfaq.info/get/bejne/a6x9hKmTkpjDpYE.html

@kimuseni I've recently learned that if picked while red color they are not completely ripe and I should wait until a deep purple for best flavor. Maybe that will help with the tartness a bit.

Do you have to prune these? I have 2 varieties I’m starting this spring (carmine jewel and Juliet)… can’t wait until mine get big like yours ❤

I have not pruned these bushes yet as I want them to fill in more. Maybe next year. Also, the cuttings easily propagates incase you want to grow more. I just cut a few branches in the spring and just stick them on the ground and they grow

@@kimuseni awesome! I will definitely try propagating mine too once they get established and bigger. Thanks for the tip :)

I'm pretty close to giving up on my Romeo cherry bush, how long did it take until you could harvest like this? I have had 2 cherries in like 5 years.

We bought the bushes in summer 2019 and they produced cherries the following year. Here is the video when we first got them kzfaq.info/get/bejne/a6x9hKmTkpjDpYE.html
